Futurama A Head in the Polls (1999)
King of the Hill The Perils of Polling (2000)
Futurama Decision 3012 (2012)

That's a really good list.

For me the trifecta is Pink Floyd's Animals, followed by a viewing of Gilliam's Brazil (Director's cut) both then chased down with Radiohead's OK Computer.

Not for just election years, but for anytime that I seem to be edging dangerously close to happiness.

In a pinch I've been known to pull out Godspeed You! Black Emperor's Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada, but the blowback from that one can be almost as punishing as happiness.

Not to be brusque, but is there some reason you feel the need to SCREAM in your thread titles?

That aside, nice list. I've never thought of a tradition of election season movies. I will write a few of these down.

Anything with Jimmy Stewart scores big with me. I'd think the ATS members who haven't seen Seven Days in May ought to correct that post haste. It's an all-time great with a stellar cast and subject matter right in our wheelhouse.

I thought I had seen that movie by its title, but oddly enough, after watching the trailer on YT, I don't think I have. At least not the whole movie. Going on my list of must sees.

I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Also a great book, BTW.

"The Candidate" (1972) starring Robert Redford is another great election movie. That ending really gets me.

It's a combination of aesthetics and bad eye sight.

I like my titles to be big and bold in order to grab attention.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER vs. How I Met Your Mother vs. How I met your mother.

The big font feels better to me design wise. It's like a title card to a film or the heading of an article.

I understand where you're coming from though. Sometimes I see posts on here with "too many" quotation marks that makes for a hard reading experience.

1984 the book and the film. Don't know how I forgot that one.

V for Vendetta (2005)

I get you, but all cap titles are frowned upon on ATS. The mods used to change them to proper case, but we don't have the staff we used to, so I don't blame them for letting it slide.

No 1984 or clockwork orange?

I take back 1984, I see you amended your error 🙂
