TA-ANALYSIS: Terror Fear Over Lost Poison in London

Terrorist in London may be in possession of the deadly poison ricin, which is 6000 times more poisonous than cyanide. Information has been gathered about the manufacture of the poison, but the ricin has not been located. A bunch of bomb, poison, and gas making equipment were recovered at a residence. Investigators also found recipes and plans used in the manufacture of gas and explosives.



The most significant find was probably the discovery of the plots to use poisons on innocents. The information to manufacture junk like this is freely availably. Surprisingly, we are not hearing of many reports like this in the US, although there was one in Florida a few months ago. The link to the Florida news story is below.

The discovery of the tie to al Qaeda is pretty scary also. This stuff is probably in the hands of a terrorist right now. The article said that an amount the size of a salt grain is enough to kill a human. It may just be a matter of time.

Smear some Ricin on a door handle at Walmart and you've got a WMD from a VERY small amount. It could infect hundreds of people before losing potency no doubt. A very scary concept indeed... This is a very dangerous poison that could easily be used to kill hundreds. This is just another easy step for them (the terrorist). The materials can be easily grown.

The events here happened 2 years ago - any Ricin produced would have degraded now and would pose no risk.

We've only found out about it now because the guy who was caught murdered one of the arresting officers with a kitchen knife and has just been sentanced for both crimes.

Think he got 22 years and 17 years.

Another 8 people got off, but the authorities will be keeping tabs on them.

It doesn't help that the press keeps banging on about missing Ricin all the time. Another factor is the belief that these substances, once manufactured, remain active and potent for ever more

As I understand it, there was evidence of a plot involving possible Ricin distribution but no actual evidence that they had produced any. Hell, I could plot to fry a whole continent with a futuristic deathray, but it doesn't mean I have the means to do so...... yet....MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Apparently a pinhead worth of Ricin will kill an average size person.

Ricin exposed to the atmosphere would have degraded. Ricin properly stored would still be viable and just as deadly as sarin gas with a 50% kill ratio.

Blimey. Climate of fear or what? Ricin indeed....I can think of two types of trees that grow in my garden that are at least as toxic as ricin,and which would take far less preparation.....AAARGH TONY!!! Tell the papers i have "terror trees"! Chop em down and send em off to cuba!
