David Axelrod Blasts Effort to Remove Trump From Ballot, Says It Will Backfire Badly

A judge in Virginia has weighed in on the case to remove Trump from the ballot...

Judge Leonie Brinkema of the Eastern District of Virginia wrote “At least five additional federal courts have concluded that citizens attempting to disqualify individuals — including former President Trump — from participating in elections or from holding public office based on the January 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol lacked standing.” The Judge continued, “Plaintiffs have totally failed to demonstrate how their alleged injuries are traceable to the conduct of defendants.”

And now, another democrat and former senior advisor to Obama has spoken out against removing Trump from the ballot, on CNN of all places...

Axelrod thought this effort just helped to support Trump — that he was only being strengthened by all this.

Axelrod believed these efforts have backfired, “We’ve run this experiment, he’s only gained since he started getting indicted.”

“What you thought might be kryptonite for him has turned out to be battery packs, and this is a big one for him,” Axelrod said.

He made it very clear that he had "very, very strong reservations about all of this.”

“I do think it would rip the country apart if he were actually prevented from running because tens of millions of people want to vote for him. I think if you’re going to beat Donald Trump, you’re going to probably have to do it at the polls."

Source

This is not rocket science, but it seems democrats, rino's, and members of the uniparty lack the brain cells to see they have turned Trump into a martyr and have shot themselves in the foot. You would think they would have learned from republicans by now that it hurts.

On the other hand, maybe this is part of the grand plan on the uniparty's 4D chessboard. I'll say it yet again. I think 2024 is going to be unprecedented in U.S. history. Strap yourselves in folks.

I remember last time it backfired on them and Trump got 3 Supreme Court picks.
The head exploding was legendary.
Something even a stolen election couldn’t quite soothe.
I wonder if it will be worse than that next time they get what they deserve.
Be careful what you wish for because you may just get it.

amazingly enough, I think a lot of us have been saying the very same thing.

If people could just separate their hate for Trump from their logical thinking, they might realize that running a better candidate was and will be the best way to beat Trump.

Look at all the choices on the GOP side. Before the debates, they all looked good. Now, it seem Desantis and Haley are stand outs, but a long way behind Trump. The rest are just a distraction. But there are choices. The best Biden can do is point to Harris and say, at least I'm not that bad. They eliminated anyone else from even trying. And while they might be able to slide in some surrogate, that window is very small and closing rapidly.

I'd be fine with most choices we have. None of them are Biden. I'm not locked into Trump, but knowing what we can expect from him, makes him a safer bet than an unknown. It all comes down to, can you put up with his personality? If so, no worries, if you are hung up on "gab em by the Pussy", you are going to have a bad time.

Yeah .. I'm not a Trump voter (I go Libertarian) but I'm going to enjoy watching liberal heads explode on Election Day if Trump wins. I agree with Axelrod ... the Democrats attempting to disenfranchise Republican voters like this is going to backfire.

I'm still on the fence regarding DJT (have been for a long time). I'm still not sure that he's not part of the overlord cabal. There are a few things that make me wary of him, including his unwavering promotion of the poison shot as some kind of modern miracle that he fathered, his unwavering support of Israel, the fact that Hillary never went to jail (a campaign promise of his, IMO), his recently floating Haley as a possible running mate ... etc.

Either they are really that scared of him, or they are trying to drive him into our arms so that once installed he can do their bidding. I'm still not sure which.

I don't think that the republic is salvagable at this point, any way. The national debt coupled with the USD's loss of hegemony, along with the current socio-political climate points to an inevitable economic, political and societal collapse, and once that happens there won't be much to pick through in the rubble. If they fear and hate him that much, hell, I'd vote for him just to watch the show. If it's gonna burn, let's see it go out with fireworks and all.

So, yeah, their antics are just making even me think a little more seriously about voting for Trump, even if it's just for the entertainment value.

If they really are that scared of him and if he's really pissed enough to go for blood once in power, it'd be like sicking a rabid pit bull on an intruder. However, if they really are that scared of him, I don't think that they'll let him win. They'd prefer an all out civil war to letting him into the White House again, and they'll foment it if they have to.

the Democrat/progressive philosophy seems to be, win by any means necessary.
the Supreme Court is one of their obstacles. Look for the dems to make a big effort to pack or rework the Court if Biden wins next year.

the media hardly ever talks about Court justices, but they've been running all sorts of articles this year, attacking Clarence Thomas.

any high profile conservative / Republican makes themself a target. look at the Nikki Haley Civil War flap this week. who asks a question like that? an 'activist' whose only goal is to make a Republican / conservative look bad.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Covid 23 take over the news this fall.

Honestly, nothing would surprise me this fall. Absolutely nothing.

The political (as well as social) climate is o volatile and hostile that I think anything is possible.

in his defence, he had a hand in degregulating the red tape for the death jab, so he feels as if that was a win for him. But the redeeming factor there was he didn't and wouldn't mandate it. If he did, the dems would have screamed and sent AOC to the border for a photo op.

I don't agree with that.

The only people that like Haley are Wall St and defense contractors.

DeSantis's campaign has been a clown show. The only people backing him now are establishment RINOs.

Vivek is the only candidate that seems to understand what the America First people want.

his recently floating Haley as a possible running mate ...

Just a couple months ago he called her a 'bird brain'.
I can't see him picking her to be VP.
I see him picking Kristie Noem - Gov of South Dakota.

I hope not. I'm trying to overcome health issues and then move back to SD. She needs to stay in SD and help keep it from becoming a pooppit like Minneapolis.

I should have added the cavoite (better than Biden by a long shot) but yea. I like Desantis, but he's done some dumb things trying to be relevant rather than just waiting until it was a better time. We don't need more wars, but we do need some backbone. A solid one punch to the nose of Iran, causing them to stumble and regroup is needed along with an economic 2x4 (hacksaw Jim Dougan) style to the head of China would go a long way to getting us back to the respect side of the fence. But sending kids to die just isn't a winning strategy anymore.

I did notice the female that asked Haley that question had that weird giggly voice that was sort of saying to me, "boss did I ask the question right?"

Also, Nikey's response was pretty goofy and disjointed, but I am not sure if it was horrific. Regardless, I don't have any problem with female leadership, but just like Kamala, she isn't the one. She is part of the new goofy checkmark system as opposed to actual ability.

Backfire?

I'll bet that by the end of March Democrats and the media will swear that no one ever tried to keep Trump off any ballot.

There will be Olympic level verbal gymnastics blaming MAGA extremists for spreading disinformation and taking things out of context. "Fact checkers" will confirm this, and the matter will be ignored.

Those are my thoughts exactly. WHY is the establishment going above and beyond to create even more supporters for the guy they supposedly don't want to win. Surely campaign planners can't all be that dumb; even the lowest IQ among us can see how attacking Trump is propping him up even higher.

Either that, or they plan to steal the election without even trying to hide illegal activity so we all know who our overlords are.

One last thought; if they slip in Michelle at the last minute she'll win by a landslide. JMHO.

I've been saying this for years now and the possibility seems greater by the day.

How does a party run the most senile president in history for reelection? One with record breaking disapproval ratings? One that was so unlikable from the beginning that they staged phony rallies with a field full of cars they borrowed from a dealership?

They don't.

The only thing that would prevent big Michelle from getting elected would be her big shlong.

When you analyze what is said and by whom, it's obvious the "Trump hate" that social media peeps, actors, celebrities, and pundits display, is not from their heart.

The top-level crooks are filled with fear and are influential. They control the media and the top of government. They put the worst "spin" they can muster on every Donald Trump statement...and begin broadcasting it repeatedly until they find the next "horrible thing" to say about Donald Trump.

The tens of millions of Democrats who attend anti-Trump protests, bang their keyboards in anger on Twitter (and ATS), and say horrible things about DJT without demonstrating evidence to support any of it, are simply parroting what they hear from the guilt-ridden traitors at the top of government and their media co-conspirators.

Even liberal Justice Sonya Sotomayor gets much of what she thinks is true from MSNBC (says that's her favorite network).

Thank Goodness liberals are steadily dwindling in number! ☠

After today 12/31/23 (123123) 85% of the states will not allow another Republican or Democrat entrant to the Presidential race. The rules for Independents are more lax however. Many states allow "I" entrants until June.
