Emergency Verification System

So this happened last night if northern Virginia at the CIA buildings in Chantilly.



What exactly is an emergency verification system???

Never heard that phrasing before.

ETA: Apparently, this went on for hours last night. Still no good news articles describing what happened.

I've never heard of an Emergency Verification System. Tried googling it but nothing popped up at all using that particular phrase.

Where are the CIA buildings in Chantilly? Asking because my SIL lives there and I've not seen any.

Can you imagine what it would be like trying to sleep when they had that test of the emergency verification system alert going off next to your house or place you were staying at? In that video, it was loud when coming over the outside speakers.

Actually, they might be NSA. I never remember which.

Her office is in a complex just south of the racetrack.

Yes. If you listen carefully around the talking the system is saying 'emergency notification system'. They just blab over it during the same words every time.

I think they could be fined for disturbing the peace for it going on that long at that time of day. I have heard of fines for that with alarms going off and no one responding that could turn them off.

I'm no expert but I'm guessing the CIA doesn't exactly put Signs on their Buildings . So it is entirely possible the Agency has buildings all over the world in all sorts of cities and we are all of us very unaware of them.

Again I'm no expert.

Actually I think it is alternating between the two...the first announcement is 'notification' & the next
one is 'verification', then notification then verification...that's what I hear.
