I thought the original was amazing and looked forward to the sequel.
I came across it two days ago and clicked it on for an hour.
I was disappointed by the first episode. It was to me a weak rehash of the first episode of red light, green light. I found no suspense in it
whatsoever. The original was shocking and this new one was merely a gratuitous repeat with none of the drama of the first.
But I think my main reason for not continuing with it was the contestants in season two. In season one, the people were hooked by their
desperation in life. They had little choice but to give it a try. As well, in the first, they were all taken aghast by the ferocity of the games, they
had not known what to expect in an existential sense. It was the fear of death that spurred them on, more than the prize.
This one though I noticed none of that. Here, the people seemed to be not phased at all that others were dying around them. There was no shock, no
horror, it's like the fear did not play into their being there at all. It seemed to me that all of them were divorced from reality from the pop nature
of the games.
At that point I decided not to continue with it and just remember how good the original was. But if you say, ah, Terry, give it another try, I think
I will. So what do you think?
