Let me start with a bit of a rhyme.
And a short little ditty
Though really a pity

I should have capitalized the Spun as ''home spun' accents the ''home'' where as in a good limrick, the ''home'' needs to be accented. homeSPUN,

No, I got your humor well thanks. The Limerick is difficult to express at times. The words must rhyme and the meter and emphasis must be perfect or the entire poem fails. And you are right, we could be here the whole day crafting

Thank you. I enjoy writing them. I get in a mood and pop construct them. Its important with limericks to be sure that not only the words rhyme but that the cadence flows as well. My father used to write them as well. One that he wrote years ago went.
