Lived in GA for a bit for work still have a house there... the gop in that state is either beyond ignorant... or hopelessly corrupt.

Down in city/county level its not terrible, state level pure corruption.

That's well and good that they're going to be dealing with this Dominion machine flipping issue. We still need to find a way to stop the trucks from dropping fake ballots to the pole counting facilities. Drop boxes need to be a thing of the past with people who are ballot stuffing. I've known someone to have taken the ballots from people in dementia care and fill the ballots out how they would like them to be. Unscrupulous things that we are going through in this country. The only way I think we can fix it is the person stand up in front of a camera and hold up a sign with the candidates name on it. And even then that could be freaking photoshopped but not so quickly. They can do like a recognition thing but the id. The government already knows who we are so it shouldn't matter. Or people hold up their ballots to the camera after they did it. This way anything that has been mistabulated the ballots can be shown with the people who have signed with it. Don't have to show their name but just show the person holding the ballot or something. Doesn't need to be released to the public but it can definitely be a great tool. I'm certain there's all sorts of loopholes in that.I'm not about to argue anything as this is me just drifting off to sleep and contemplating. Nor do I like to argue.

When hand counting ballots can yield winning results in a day compared to a week or for voting machine results it's hard to see Dominion machines as 'progress' of any kind.

It absolutely is progress - progress with respect to controlling the outcomes of elections.

I suspect that whole deal with the pregnant and hanging chads.... (which also are evidence of a cheat, BTW. Think of a paperclip used to poke out a column of punches on a stack of cards)

Anyway, the silliness of the visuals in that mess led non-IT savy people to embrace electronic voting.

I knew at the time this was folly.

I made a living writing code, walking thru contracted code to look for stuff like backdoors on a DoD network. When Dominion said the word 'proprietary' when a code walkthru was requested, I knew what had happened. In govt, and national security matters, which elections are most definately, there should be NO proprietary code.

Agreed, it should be fully open source.

The only electronic voting system would be one that was fully open source, and based on blockchain tech similar to bitcoin, that cannot be changed or altered, and is fully auditable, even down to the individual voter being able to verify that not only was their vote counted, but that it was counted properly.

So why is Dominion getting away with the most basic insecurity for a govt, national security system, PROPRIETARY?

That simple fact is the evidence of the truth: our 'masters' don't want secure elections.

Agreed again - but my response was incomplete... I meant to say 'The only electronic voting system that I would support or that should ever be considered...'...
