Oh no, I 100% disagree. Israeli victims and American victims are very well represented, especially by those who condemn the senseless slaughter of ALL innocent noncombatant civilians anywhere in the world.

A lot of people are pushing the disinformation that Palestinians = HAMAS, and therefore, there are no innocent noncombatant civilians in Gaza in man, woman, child, or baby form.

Even the babies are terrorists.

Even the Palestinian flag is a terrorist.

Why doesn’t Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iran or any other arab county let these ‘innocent palestinans’ into their country?

Good post. I try to travel once a year with a group of artists. We take cultural trips and interact with other artists in workshops, and sometimes in their own homes. Combo of hotels, riads, campouts and guest houses. Often long rides in the van, with people you have gotten to know over a few weeks are the best education. Of course, because we are with locals that are promoting this type of tourism and exchange, it's self filtering to more open minded and curious folks. These types of encounters lead to enduring exchanges, artist pages on instagram and social media friendships.

I agree with everything you've said. People are the same, deep down, everywhere. There is love and light and wonder, and there is darkness, resentment and anger. I had a quick encounter in the souk when trying to buy a bone bracelet from a very poor woman. She just grabbed the bill I pulled out to give her, and ran off with the bracelet. Ok, my donation to her meals today. I still in my heart understood why she did what she did. Nothing personal. No hatred in my heart. I went on my way, conversing with my friend. Actually, I just now said a prayer for her. I wonder how she fared in the quake?

But still, I watched my bills a bit more carefully with an eye to making purchases, donations and tips by choice. I began to just take a few out with me and relied on plastic. Im sure that habit has made it even harder for the pickpockets to eat!

Nothing will keep me from continuing to travel until I'm too old to walk around I guess. We are an older group, so we dont do alot of the tourist hikes and zip lining adventures. I live for these adventures. Because I love meeting people that are not like me, but still are. If you know what I mean.... I think you do.

Part of it is due the economic costs associated with taking in 2million refugees.

The other part is no Arabic country wants to be complicit in Nakba and what they see as the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza and a continuation of previous wars where Israel refused to allow Palestinian refugees to return.

It's seen as ethnic cleansing by most Arab countries as due to prior Arab-Israeli conflicts and treatment of Palestinian refugees where Israel refused to allow Palestinian refugees to return once the conflict ended they don't believe Israel will allow them to return again this time.
