Cheney was once seen as a possible candidate for Speaker but was removed from her position as GOP conference chair in May 2021 in response to her unwillingness to join most of her Republican colleagues in saying that the 2020 election was stolen.

I would vote for Liz Cheney

The daughter of a war criminal...

Can't say I'm surprised by that statement.
Sadly.

How about I judge her on her own merits.

Too many liberals are so far up the liberal bung hole that they won’t do anything but vote liberal.
No swing votes there regardless of common sense.

Republicans are in disarray. No solidarity. No plan.

Trump. Is who is needed to drain the DC swamp or at least get it started, however I doubt it will happen.

The US government is stagnant and full of corruption on both sides. A hard reset is needed.

It’s definitely not working in the best interests of the US citizens.

Consider a "no election" scene.

Maybe Ukraine is the hint.

Liz Cheney is a neocon war monger. War without justification is the motto.

First, I think we have to give way to voting by popularity. Long have we voted by celebrity and associated names. Reagan, actor, Clinton, famous saxophone player, Bush, son of daddy boy. Offered another Clinton and another celebrity tv host and then a name brand VP. How many other offices have been filled with celebrities and people who had the same last name as some other politician. Yet, this seems to be an over arching tendency in elections.

We also have to take into account how faddish American culture has become. Popular or rather ''pop culture'' is a driving force behind what grabs the American public's attention. My observation is that almost anyone who might win the popular attention for even a brief span of time during an election could, by popular explosion, walk in and sweep it all away.

How about any of these popular singers or actors that would have a mind to run. How about Tom Brady who for whatever reason might stand at a podium and say all the right things at the right time. Who knows, huh?

As for third party, well sure. As I see it a third party that features only women would be very interesting. Haley and Gabbard. Haley and Cheney. Gabbard and Cheney. Pick your combos. Oprah and Obama. Oh please, not that one.

More than fifty percent of my voting life since 1968 has been third party voting and even though I have little hope that it would help in 24 I can say that for sure, if it is Biden that runs against Trump I will vote for ''The Rock'', who by the way remains a man who successfully stared in a TV semi-fictional documentary as a candidate for president. But if it''s Biden and almost any other Republican, I will vote for that Republican, that is unless it's Tucker Carlson.

I know he is well liked but the Rock has always given me a bad juju feeling, and my feeling is never, ever, ever wrong.

I said it on here regarding Will Smith before the Slap incident. I said it about Oprah before it was popular to not like her.

And it's not who I would like to see run, those comments I made, but more the over all trends to celebrity and name recognition voting. Form me personally this is enough to stay away from Kennedy.
Personally, I would like to see Ben Sasse run.

About the only thing liz has going for her is that she's not one of those other morons.

I almost feel sorry for DeSanctomonius...trying to talk tough but still the playground geek. I hope he gets the nomination.

I'd rather vote for the Libertarian that will more than likely lose, than vote for those clowns.

I'm going to vote for the candidate that offers more freedoms for us rather than less.

IDK why, but I predict it'll either be Trump or, somehow, as if by magic, Nicki Haley, because she wants to get us into war.
We are going to war.
Because our overlords want that sweet blood money.
It's pure intuition, and makes no logical sense, but I feel a Nicki Haley war-time presidency could be in the cards.

EDIT- Maybe it'll somehow be Trump president, Nicki Haley VP.

Depends on who you read (that applies to every candidate).

Never listen to the "Carnival Barker" -- check their voting record.

I am fiscal conservative/social liberal -- as I think the majority of voters are.

I don't think the up-and-coming generation are "party voters" as much as past generations.

I would hope they independently research each candidate.

I am a realist.

When you stack thousands of people on top of each other in crammed towers -- personal freedoms become less.

This isn't the wide-open plains of the Wild West anymore -- where you can make your own rules.

Where do we need to go from here. How do we progress? Move forward?

James Bryant Conant “No man can stand still; the moment progress is not made, retrogression begins. If the blade is not kept sharp and bright, the law of rust will assert its claim.”

I'm not sure an "Independent" actually has independent concepts to move us forward. If so -- I'd vote for "them".

I completely agree with you, we pick celebrities too much.

That said, I want John Stewart for president!

He just has to decide to run. Independent, smart, fights for people, fights for veterans and first responders, middle of the road, unregistered with either party.

Yeah, If I had to choose among celebs. But I think he is to empathic, to moved by the outrageousness that surrounds us. It would tear him up I think. Do you recall his 9/11 speech on the show? Several days later it was like a eulogy of sorts, broad and patriotic and the very best commentary on that day I ever heard. I was in tears throughout.
