I honestly don’t know much about the Palestinian people. But I know that they are different from Hamas. Just like the Israeli Government is different from the Israeli people.

So if I say that the Israeli government are #ing assholes, that is not antisemitism. Just like if I say Hamas are #ing assholes that’s not antisemitic (look up what Semitic means, please), or anti Arab or Anti Muslim or anything else pejorative. It just means I have a foul #ing mouth and I’m not afraid to use it.

In fact, if I say Joe Biden or Donald Trump or Barack Obama are #ing assholes, (I know you agree with at least one of those) that doesn’t make me anti-American.

Moving on, can you cite a single person in the U.S. who has said “Yay Hamas for massacring people?” I have not seen this.

I also don’t know the exact history of the creation of Israel. I think I used to, but I’ve forgotten. My poor recollection is that the British had something to do with sort-of unilaterally deciding (with the assistance of Israeli terrorists threatening and attacking the deciders) that Israel should be located roughly where it is now, and by the way # the people who lived there before. Israel has lived up to that sentiment.

That Palestinians have got the short end of the Israeli resettlement debacle is not their fault. That many Palestinians have protested against their treatment by throwing rocks or even just protesting peacefully is not terrorism. It might be inadvisable given that they were throwing rocks at armed soldiers who didn’t hesitate to empty and automatic weapon on them. But I’m guessing that the common person there doesn’t have the ability to change anything on their own. I’m pretty sure that Hamas doesn’t hold elections. So it’s more like a dictatorship I assume.

That the surrounding Arab and/or Muslim governments haven’t embraced Palenstinians over the decades and invited them into their borders, is a nothingburger. It might not be similar, but when we see people from Central America suffering under drug cartels, bad economy or whatever, it’s not like we are saying “awww stop the suffering, we’ll let you in.” (Yes I know our borders enforcement is problematic). Do you think we should let all those poor unfortunates in here? I don’t. There’s nothing wrong with empathy and a lot to be said for charity. But don’t try to tell me that Palestinians should be taken care of by their neighbors.

In closing, it is not contradictory for me to hate what Hamas is and does, and also hate THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT for forgetting what it’s like to be # on by the rest of the world.

I’ll admit that I don’t know why the protestors in the U.S. piped up AFTER Hamas’s brutal and inhuman attack. But 10,000 dead at least 50% kids? If a mass shooter holes up in your house with your family while you’re at work, are the police justified in killing your whole family to get the guy?

Anyway there have been people protesting Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people since at least the 1960’s which is around when Israel’s very effective strategy of calling any of its critics “antisemitic” was created.

You cynicism is noted and almost makes me want to cop to it. But well, that’s not me. I am truly a newcomer. Although I’ve visited ATS half a dozen times in the last 10 years or so, I only joined today (or yesterday depending on where you are.)

I feel this time of absolute #ing chaos is a great time to find out what our ATS comrades are saying about things.

Ps. I use the term comrades to be congenial. I’m not implying that any of us are Russian, ex-Soviet, socialists, communists, or even listeners of KLOS (from the days when their logo was a bunch of Russian looking soldiers and the caption said “95.5 KLOS - revolutionize your mind”). Even though of course some of “us” could be any of those.
