No Doubt That Is War

*** This is a poem from the perspective of a person who is related to this conflict directly or indirectly through degrees of separation. The Israel or Jewish perspective. Really just flowing emotion. Don't care how grandstanding it comes off.


Hatred and revenge
For rehashing memory
Shock and disbelief

Endless news plays on
A Concern for others, strong
Joy and laughter, gone

Vicarious pain
For another made my own
Armed for proxy war

Anger is mounting
Other beliefs try my patience
Hypocritical

Veil now discarded
Worth the emphatic outrage
They are parasites

Every hideout
Hunt them to oblivion
For others, for mine

Support an enemy
That is the reality
One that can't be stopped

Free choice is given
Call mine crocodile tears
Choices inhumane

It won't be this time
Some lives no longer matter
Tunnels are like caves

Good guy badge to wear
Excuses, occupation
Hate plain and simple

Every hideout
Hunt them to oblivion
For others, for mine

My hypocrisy?
I have my prejudice too
No doubt that is war

I hope everything works out for the best. I'm really sorry to hear that.

I'm only distant. According to average percentages they were 5 generations back on my mother's side. But mine is secondary.

The person for who this is for is from New York originally. Large extended family. Second cousin and his wife are in the South. All good and accounted for. Her father's cousin is in Tel Aviv. Several American Jewish families are all in similar positions.

Hard not to feel and share disgust.

This was 9/11 + Every Holocaust horror ever spoke of for many of Jewish heritage. And that's not an understatement of the sickness and anger fealt by imparticularly by her and her family right now.

I think there comes a point of brutality that lends itself to pivoting a conflict towards slaughter or away from it.. and living through one such pivot I think we are at another..

the cranberries song zombies written in the aftermath of the Warrington bombing was such a point as targeting children is an incredibly emotive topic thus it still resonates today as an anti war song, even today as a parent i can not grasp what could be going on mind of anyone who targets children.

It's certainly rational, and my position echoes a similar loss of humility, but in this instance, it's temporarily not applicable.

Hate away. It's not to sway anyone one way or another. It's a personal solidarity and shared disdain thing. It's a shame people are now on opposite sides for more reasons, or that sides are a thing, but for now, I can't acknowledge the absolute territory claim of the Western squirrel.

And I know my girlfriend can't.

I don't want to be them.

That's why negotiations are so hard. This projected as intended. The reactions of pearl harbor and 9/11 from the Jewish/Israeli perspective. What can I do to get them back? Buy war bonds? Rivet some sh*t?

It's not gonna win friends. And I'm sorry that it was an angering gut punch. I'm usually more tactful, but I also can't do poetry from positions not drawing on actual emotion.

Even hateful and revenge-minded emotion. Especially the most raw of emotion. Which still is fairly raw about this.

I meant nothing personal to anyone here. Raw emotion and a few days of news posted this. A more direct experience posted this.

The numb, blank 9/11 stare when I got home Saturday took me back 22 years. Three words said, "They're killing us".

Very emotional few days. I'm sorry my processing that has erupted in Zionism and drama posting.

Wax on, wax off. All working was like an intricate work of sand art blown away by the wind. It was the most authentic account I had, actually.

But I must thank this occurrence, because I don't have to do something anymore.
