My world is blank,
My life is bleak,
My year is broke,
My month is bored,
My days are bruised.

Blank as my mind,
Blank as the moon,
Blank as my face,
Blank as a hole
Blank as my soul.

My head is blank,
My page is blanc,
My hope is blown,
My shadow is black,
My thoughts are bored.

Blank as my heart,
Blank as the void,
Blank as my love,
Blank as a moan,
Blank as my goals.

My home is blank,
My food is bland,
My blood is bled,
My call is bluffed,
My eyes are blind.

Can anyone help,
Remove this blot,
Someone, please help,
To end this blight.
And Fill in the Blanks.

The End

I particularly like the interesting collision of "my days are bruised".

Nice work, s+f.

You're pain is palpable; I'm sending you a cyberhug.

Kahlil Gibran wrote:

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.
And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.
And how else can it be?
The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter’s oven?
And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?
When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, “Joy is greater than sorrow,” and others say, “Nay, sorrow is the greater.”
But I say unto you, they are inseparable.
Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.
Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.
When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.

The height of ones' joy cannot exceed the depth of ones' sorrow.

A sage and perfect quote. It's much appreciated, nugget. Thank you for taking the time to post it.

I don't know which is the greater between sorrow and joy, but I think pain leaves Indelible scars; happiness is fleeting... at least in this terrestrial realm. Laughter tickles and tinges my heart, but sobbing pierces and paints it black, and lingers forever, at least in this life.

Thank you very much, asabuvsobelow. I should have written better..., but it was a spur of the moment expression of a moment in time that just spewed out.

My world is sharply busy eating sour patch kids,
My life is running from yoga mats that follow me,
My year is always busy eating yellow snow in the jungle,
My month is December always filled with board games,
My days are full of eating bruised fruit and toes.

I always wonder as my mind spins,
As the moon spins wait it is tide locked, 🌚
You spit as my face turned green from your flem,
It’s really called the great attractor, look it up,
My soul surfed when you finally left me.

I have a cow heart, moo!

I can't fill in those blanks, Encia, for me they are very appropriate to the piece. Sometimes too, silence says more than words.

You come across in your writings and comments as kind and compassionate. Try and find a little of that for yourself and shake off those blues.

I find pleasure in giving and sometimes with humour I lament that I 'live a life of service' but really I wouldn't have it any other way.

S+F for making me sad!

Yes, I agree, but usually that has only happened for my stories; the seed quickly planted, but a long gestation period, usually slowed down by research into the chosen topic.

In this case, I started with the first line and just carried on, 10 minutes later it was done and just had to get rid of it from my mind. If I had overcooked it, it would have probably driven me over the edge.

Thanks again for your support.

Great imagery, JJ., thanks for the filler. It helps take my mind off of the hairball I coughed up.

Yes, I'm in the same boat; usually the one to support-with-a-smile others in need, which is fine if were not for my sponge-like absorption of everyone's torment, pushing and compressing my own into a little corner until meltdown occurs.

Thanks for your empathic feedback, midicon.
