Mayorkas wants a wall now

“There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas,” Mr. Mayorkas said in an official filing in the Federal Register. “In order to ensure the expeditious construction of the barriers and roads in the project areas, I have determined that it is necessary that I exercise the authority that is vested in me by section 102(c) of IIRIRA.”

I had to go to Portland, Oregon today. It seems to have gotten worse there every time I go. Why don't they build a wall around Portland and similar #hole cities?

It appears the sanity was short lived:

"There is no new administration policy with respect to the border wall," said Mayorkas in a statement.

"From day one, this Administration has made clear that a border wall is not the answer. That remains our position and our position has never wavered. The language in the Federal Register notice is being taken out of context and it does not signify any change in policy whatsoever," the statement continues.

I don’t know if a wall is the answer, but, I do have the sense to say we need to enhance the security of our southern border.

And here I thought we actually might start making rationale decisions.
