Indeed.

But why does it make one a dickweed?

Well friends, that's because they need to not only print new money, which leads to even more inflation but they need to also tax more.

(just for our slower folks)

True.

I just got tired of all the leftists here getting offended when I called them Marxist bastard assholes.

The one they tanked dont know, its not in the CR as I understand it just disaster relief fund bump up.

Maybe I missed something.

Personally I would rather see a little more to ukraine but gain an 8% cut in spending. *shrugs* but this entire fiasco doesnt smell right I am just to tired to find that missing piece.

Gaetz doesn't have the votes he needs just from Republicans. I don't see Democrats siding with Gaetz but they're going to force McCarthy to make some major concessions before guaranteeing their support.

Gaetz pretty much just guaranteed that the Dems will get whatever they want while at the same time removing the leverage the Freedom Cacus has over McCarthy. Just an all around dumb play from Gaetz. Especially amid rumors that the GOP are floating the idea to expel Gaetz.

The missing piece is within your own opinion.

With the entire host of issues that face our nation, including deficit and debt, more money to Ukraine simply shouldn't be on the table.

Gaetz issue is that by funding Ukraine, and then subsequent continuing resolutions, that this road, like every other time, leads to a porked out omnibus. So single issue bills and not funding Ukraine are his sticking points along with whatever agreements were made for his vote.

And I happen to agree with him on these.

Lets not pretend that McCarthy hasn't already been aiding democrats.

Your even passive support for McCarthy should speak volumes to the posters and lurkers alike here.

So MTG will very very very often have these great little sound bites for the camera. Especially now since he is under ethics investigation for sleeping with under age girl. Honest, round here he would be gator food.

He has personal grudge against speaker because he did not weigh in on ethics or try help him.

Look it is simple, they simply don't have enough of majority to do much. They have to hold line best they can. Like rugby it moves both ways before someone breaks away.

I personally would like to see real change. Convention of states and institute real change. Balanced budget would shrink all levels of govt by sixty percent over night. Make the Pentagon go thru audit and actually request item by item a budget. No income tax. Income tax worst thing ever happened to our ctry, taxes in general. During Reagan, trump economy and ctry never stronger. Two term limits for everyone and you can't ever make money on service, no books, non profit, speaking, stocks, and applies to your family, you don't serve to make money. Supreme court, well, what can I say, they have not done job in decades and we're never meant to serve forever, the average lifespan when conceived was not even 48 years old. In fact we don't need a govt., it was formed for one reason, protect the republic. Now it has let over seven million illegals into ctry in two years and has you 33 plus trillion in debt. It spent three trillion more money last year than it took in. It borrowed that three trillion on which we are now paying a trillion dollars in interest alone. For perspective we took in just four point plus trillion. You begin to see the math, or NOT lol

We really do need to just start over.

I believe it was some portion to Ukraine, but not to control the border, soo that was one of the reasons it was going to be a shutdown.

It seems democrats believe that Ukraine is a priority but not our southern border.

Don't hold back like that. Just come out and say what's really on your mind.

I disagree slightly, I think they could have leveraged the cuts in spending more by giving ground slightly on the aid to ukraine.

By going all or nothing when you have only a slim majority in the house and the dems have the senate they guaranteed they get nothing.

Which means everything he is doing is nothing more than political posturing for his re-election campaign and I am sick of it. Make progress stop posturing.

So they should simply get back to status quo?

The one vocal person who is clammoring for single issue bills and lowering the deficit and debt is the bad guy here?

I mean, you can argue his character all day long, but these simple policy notions are something that are long overdue.

McCarthy is a known quantity that might actually be willing to compromise on things. Especially now that the threat of being ousted no longer hangs over his head.

He's certainly a much better option than someone like Comer or Jordan.

Oh...now you want compromise.

Now you want options.

But only for your political opposite.

How transparent Xcalibur.

Didnt say that, dems hate to cut spending flex in one area to gain in another.

Until they have an actual majority all or nothing means stagnation or worse dems take the house and keep the senate.

They HAVE to have progress to show the voters come 2024, all or nothing has caused the last couple times they lost ground to the dems.

No, you certainly did not. I was asking if that was what was to be gleaned from you post.

I'm simply curious why Gaetz is the bad guy in this scenario. Ukraine shouldn't be a priority now (or in the past IMO). An omnibus is the only way this trajectory plays out.

Democrats can't lauder money through Ukraine if no money is going to Ukraine.

I agree it shouldnt (we have done enough for Ukraine, and I am sick of the money laundering) but if the GOP doesnt have some sort of victories to show for their control of the house the democrats will win it back in 2024 and the nation is 100% lost.

All or nothing approach will not get us there, since schumer will just table it and nothing happens.

Gaetz approach so far seems to be all or nothing, that plays well for his district but bad for the nation thats my irritation with him over this.
