It has been lamented that the standard of the western political "elite" is, unfortunately, not so elite these days. In fact they seem a pitiable, if dangerous, laughing stock. When future historians look into what precipitated the "fall of the west", undoubtedly they will feature prominently. A group where corruption, incompetence and self interested C+ intellects abound. Even the ones without moderate dementia.

This was never more evident than in Canada recently. After years of a compliant and largely state controlled western media propaganda campaign to whitewash the obvious fact that the political and military power structure of the Ukraine is rife with Nazism, the Canadian parliament just gave two standing ovations to a literal Nazi. One the speaker passed off as a Ukrainian-Canadian war hero during "green screen" Zelinsky's official visit.

Wouldn't you think in a fat bureaucracy with all manner of researchers, analysts, advisors, secretaries, intel and general hangers on, someone with a couple of brain cells might have had their most basic understanding of modern history piqued before they trotted this old fella out?

That this so called hero fought for "Ukrainian independence against the Russians" in WW2 might have at least rung a bell for someone? Who was it that the Russians (Soviets) fought in WW2 again? Oh, that's right it was the Nazis. How would it be lost on these people that "Russia" was not just on our side, but a very important ally in WW2? If they hadn't defeated the Nazis, Europe would be a different place today.

The First Ukrainian Division that this person fought with wasn't called that before they surrendered to the allies in 1945. The name was changed to sanitize their image re western repatriation as explained here. They fought as the "14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Galatian)".

Yes, the Schutzstaffel as created by Hitler and later refined by "Reichsführer-SS" Heinrich Himmler. This particular SS group were responsible for all manner of atrocities and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of (largely civilian) Jews, Communists and Poles.

"Formed in 1943, SS Galichina was composed of recruits from the Galicia region in western Ukraine. The unit was armed and trained by the Nazis and commanded by German officers. In 1944, the division was visited by SS head Heinrich Himmler, who spoke of the soldiers’ “willingness to slaughter Poles.

The Waffen SS was proudly racist and swore allegiance to Adolf Hitler. The various groups within the SS were tasked with torture, political assassinations and the final solution among other things.

It was actually an SS group that were responsible for executing 158 Canadian and 2 British POW's in the Normandy massacre. Considered among the worst war crimes ever committed against Canadian troops.

Almost as bizarrely, apparently the speaker of the "house of commons" (presumably to distinguish them from the less common?) made comparisons of Zelensky to Mandela (could there be a more stupid comparison?) and Churchill. In fairness both Z and Churchill are famous for being beggars to the US after their country got an ass whoopin', but comparisons probably end there. Zelensky is just a puppet of the US, while ol' Winnie should have been tried for war crimes/crimes against humanity and was probably no better than Hitler himself.

The remarks of nancy-boy Trudeau seemed equally vacant. He simply denied all prior knowledge, placed all blame on the speaker (since resigned) and finished with an exhortation to resist "Russian Propaganda". Which could leave reasonable people wondering wtf Russia has to do with this? They were (quite rightly) as appalled as Jewish groups (or anyone with some decency).

This little snippet about authoritarian wannabe with a massively ironic name, Chrystia "Freeland" probably sums up the west at the moment.

Well the sad part is they get away with it. They know 90% of the media will back them up. 40 years ago Democrats at least had to be creative to deceive the public. Now they can come off with the most ridiculous rhetoric, most of the media will parrot it, and 40% of the public believes it. There's a reason they spent 2 generations dumbing down our education system so people are physically incapable of thinking for themselves.

It's disturbing to learn most people who control American foreign policy are incapable if holding a job in private labor market so they go get a job in the public sector. Where you are rewarded for how well you bend the knee rather than how well you perform.

America is being run by an organization of adult children who have lived their entire lives without facing ANY real consequences for their actions. They will openly brag about how they haven't sent one American to die in the meat grinder that is Ukraine. Meanwhile half a million Ukranian soldiers are dead and they call it a "bargain" for the 200 billion sent. Meanwhile Russia is just as powerful than ever and America continues to turn into a 3rd world country.

Where are the Republicans?

With the date on Hunter Bidens laptop alone a law student could make a case for the impeachment on Joe Biden in an afternoon. Yet we are 3 years in and the Republicans are nowhere to be found.

We have a uni-party and you are a fool if you think voting will fix this. Even if Trump manages to retake the helm. His steering wheel won't be connected to the ship just like last time. But I believe the people really controlling the country will burn it all down before they let that happen.

Although she spent years denying it, Freeland's grandfather was a Nazi propagandist in Krakow, as editor of pro Nazi - anti-Semitic publication "Krakivs’ki visti". He also occupied spacious apartments the Nazis had confiscated from their rightful (Jewish) owners. As editor he also played a part in the formation of the "14th Grenadier Division of the Waffen-SS Galicia" itself. The very same one that this particular Ukrainian Nazi fought in.

At any rate, there appears to be no possibility that she (and other top members of Govt.) were not well aware that this man was a Nazi. Same goes for military officials, they have spent years training Ukrainian Nazis. They simply didn't care, to them Nazis are fine because they hate Russians. They just tried to pass this literal Nazi off as "a Ukrainian-Canadian hero who fought against Russia in WW2" and thought no one would know the difference.

Here is the translated oath these people took when they volunteered for this Waffen SS division.

“I swear before God this holy oath, that in the battle against Bolshevism, I will give absolute obedience to the commander in chief of the German armed forces Adolf Hitler, and as a brave soldier I will always be prepared to lay down my life for this oath.”

As one of these compares correctly notes, unfortunately politicians in general are among the stupidest members of society nowadays, it looks like some high profile ones are Nazi sympathisers as well. Some of the general public seem to have fallen for the whitewashing, but when you ignore modern history and when Nazis keep popping up all over the place concerning the Ukraine, at some stage ignorance cannot any longer be an excuse. It is wilful Nazi sympathising.
