One of the types of plant called 'locoweed' grow on the trails that lead down into the Grand Canyon.

I've heard some of the donkeys that carry tourists down into the canyon have a hankerin' for that plant

There is more than one plant called 'locoweed'. I had no reason to doubt what I was told.

You mentioned a specific sort of plant, which may not be what was mentioned at the GC.

I'm not sure where you are but the datura variety in the SW USA, smoking is bad too. Experimenters end up in the ER trying to do just that.

There is a tree that is also Datura, but I was referring to the plant Datura Stramonium, the ones with the spikey seed pods. You can smoke that one, Bearing in mind there is a psychotropic effect depending on the amount. The Datura tree is highly toxic and even sleeping under it is dicey.
The Zombification process starts with the dried puffer fish, I think it is the same fish that the Japanese eat for a buzz, but in Haiti, it's dried into a powder then it can enter through the skin. When this happens like the Japanese who over do it, a state-like death occurs, in Japan anyone who "Dies" of a Pufferfish meal, has to be left in the morgue and not messed with as quite a few wake-up days later. Back in Haiti....the guy who is singled out gets buried, and then they dig him up. Zombie lettuce which is datura leaf,It keeps them subdued and working in slavery. In South America, a drug made from the Datura tree, called 'Dat" is just blown into a mark's face, and then they do anything they are told, it has a lot of Scapolomine in it the truth drug it removes all will.It is very popular for clearing out bank accounts at the moment.

Dutura 'tree' Ive never heard of. Stramonium seems less toxic than other varieties. I put a link above. You can buy datura on etsy. Its a very bad poison.

Scapolomine is used to dilate the eyes, and is in the sea sickness patch. It is hallucinogenic with high doses. Even a single patch gave me audio hallucinations and a weird high. Hated it.
