A fence, also known as a receiver, mover, or moving man, is an individual who knowingly buys stolen goods in order to later resell them for profit. The fence acts as a middleman between thieves and the eventual buyers of stolen goods who may not be aware that the goods are stolen.
I read somewhere this is all organized and 1/3 of the big retail smash and grab is by a group of about 300 people
I would be looking at who else benefits from the likes of Nordstorm and Macy's going under, or maybe they are looking to buy them when it appears they are going to be a total loss. Then revamp the name at a discount. Possibly some corporation wants the real estate their businesses are on.

‘Who is Fencing the Stolen Goods from these mass looting's? ’
These Department stores and Luxury Items stores that are being looted are not just some random thieves . These Robberies are Mass and Orchestrated . While yes they are Chaotic in nature as you can see in the Videos , there is an order to it. They are all wearing black and have their faces consistently covered .
Running into a Macy's Store and stealing a ‘ Coach Handbag ‘ then going a few towns over to a pawn shop is the common move in a situation like that .
But that is just one bag and it will attract little to no attention but we are talking about hundreds of bags and 10's or even 100’s of thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods . You can't just walk into a Pawn shop with all that clearly stolen merchandise .
Which means someone or some organization is Fencing these Stolen goods that is the only possible explanation. Mexico or Canada ? Is that where the Merchandise is going ? Is there some massive underground Department Store we are unaware of ?
Follow the money , Find the Fence , Let the Police do their Jobs and Most of the Looting will stop, come on FBI is it really that hard ?
Heard analysis by reputable economist that has lead him to conclude this is activity organized by radical environmental group that seems to shut down retail outlets.

chaining the doors shut while the crowd is smashing and grabbing would be an interesting way to go about this. let them out in an orderly fashion straight into the large vans for transporting criminals.

That would mean that things put on social media sale sites could be checked, resulting not only in the recovery for an expensive item, but the exposure of the fence and perhaps the perp that gave it to them. Why is the FBI and other law enforcement not doing this?
There are More detrimental things to the Environment than Department Stores .

That would also chain in a few innocent shoppers, and the perps would use them as hostages to get the main door open.
High ticket bags and other items (perhaps not any jewelry unless nano ID'd) would have serial numbers, would they not? Places like Macy and Nordstrom would most likely have a list of those numbers as they are put out on the shelves.
