Not today, she said
Not again with that game
Stare right though, oblivious
Leaving ideas untold

Not again, she thought
That twisting day on playback
Of ambiguity and failed tests
Leaving opportunity untold

Never fair, she cried
Ever thought, never landed
Indecision, hesitant
Leaving possibility untold

I didnt know, she cried
Never alone in isolation
A smaller world for torture
Leaving experience untold

Never dare, she lied
Another day that turned to hurt
To become a private sorrow
Leaving memories untold

Always there, she tried
To kill that day of pain
Shadows there still at dawn
Leaving all untold

I really like your poem. It has a buildup of a very scary story that sadly many people face. “Leaving all untold”. Reminds me of something bad that happened to me and I had to hide truth.

I haven't really written them in a while. I forgot how good they are at hiding crap in plain sight.

I used to write really pretentious poems like Wynonna Ryder in Beetlejuice. So at least they've gotten a little better since then..

I have never heard of Bosch. But his art is freaking amazing. Salvador Dali without the woman issues and full on surrealism.

The Metallica video had very explicit Bosch elements in it.
The repeated line "Hold me 'til it sleeps" reminded me of a werewolf constrained.
The poem was your poem seen through the lens of the Stupid Girl song.

So I read up on the Shadow. I'll admit I never actually read a book by Jung, just books with quotes. I did know about id suppressed by superego but didn't know it as Shadow.

Projection on others makes sense.

The head's a creepy place. Stupid girl has always been cruel to herself over mistakes. Moreso when she has no clue what she did. Process, sublimate, bury it.

On a related note I want this as my next contest avatar. Seems taken from what I imagine my mind looks like.
