So I was at a musuem in Florida , Ocala yesterday. The Appleton museum .
And on the second floor there was this shield like object, it had a flower/people design delicately painted on the front , but it was not particuarly my taste. I saw other objects that were more my taste and I was not drawn to like this 'shield' . It was Italian, 17th century. I regret not taking a photo or paying more attention to the accompanying note.

I might contac the museum and ask details about the object.

Has anyone experience something like this, and any explanation?

Sounds like it may be reincarnation related. Could be you recognize an object that was important to you in a former life or maybe just a particular aspect of it reminds you of that like for example a unique way colors and shapes are arranged. Do you know how in Tibetan Buddhism after the death of some Lamas, especially the Dalai Lama there is an active search for his reincarnation among young boys?

The test usually conducted on the final candidates includes checking whether the child remembers anything related to the previous lama, whether the child can recognize some possessions the previous lama has regularly used,

Or maybe you are drawn to it because it connects you to something or someone that plays an important role in your future? But that's even more speculative. Is it possible you saw the object in your dreams and forgot about it?

Yes! This has happened to me, and to other people I've known.

Sometimes it's an archetype form that you have a special connectoin with, and sometimes it can be a real connection between object and people who've handled that object.

I'm always drawn to certain objects at Antique stores.

Maybe there's something about the energy of the item in question that resonates with you subconsciously.

Perhaps a symbolic association?

This happened to me with the "Titanic" exhibit when it came to town. I'm a member of the local museum, so we got advance access on Members Night.

I stood in front of that big hatch door for a very long time. All I felt was evil. Not that Titanic was evil, but that the ocean floor where she lies is.

Back in the 1980s I was walking through a flea market and one of the sellers had a ship's bell on their table. Just had to have it so I paid the asking price of $200 at the time. Still have it too.

I have had that experience with people. In particular one stands out. I was visiting Germany, and I sat next to a girl on a train. She was Turkish, but spoke a little English. We chatted -- really connected -- for about 15 minutes before she got off at her stop. She got out onto the platform, and stood there. We maintained eye contact as the train departed, and I smiled. I can't explain how strongly I felt a connection between our souls. I know she felt it too -- it was in her deep gaze. I still feel sad about that parting. All after meeting a stranger on a train for 15 minutes. I have wondered what incredible connection exists between our souls that transcends those 15 minutes on a train in Germany.
