So, I just had a pretty frustrating experience trying to connect some wireless gear up to an intel NUC 12 (mini-PC). Got everything working after
mucho brain damage (the intel NUC chipset doesn't play nice with wireless stuff at all, and fixing it is some real 'voodoo' too! Only thing
missing was chicken bones).
After I got all that done, I was lamenting the distance limitations of low power Bluetooth (i.e. can't work across the living room). Then, it
occurred to me what life would be like in a huge office, with hundreds of people, if Bluetooth keyboards with unifying receivers had a range of about
100 yards! Most people set these things up generically, so it would be complete chaos! And...it would probably be funny as hell!
Boss sends out an email. Addressee is responding, hits (send), but before the email goes someone else's text string searching on midget porn gets
appended to email response. Boss freaks out and fires back a flameogram, but someone else's mouse click selects a broadcast email recipient group to
the entire company. Hundreds of people start firing emails off left and right, each one getting jacked up worse with fragments of other people's
typing and mouse clicks. Within minutes complete anarchy breaks out with people pounding keyboards and throwing stuff. Massive brawl ensues.
It'd kind of be like... Office Space - Millennial Style Redux.
