Head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin dead in plane crash

A private jet traveling from Moscow to St. Petersburg crashed on Wednesday

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Private Military Company, was listed among the passengers.

In June, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Group private military company, led a short-lived rebellion against the Russian government in which he and a group of his fighters occupied the city of Rostov-on-Don and the headquarters of the Southern Military District. Putin quickly denounced his actions as treason and vowed to put an end to the rebellion. Long story short, a deal was struck in which Prigozhin was allowed to go free without charges, so long as he left Russia.

Prigozhin has just died in a plane crash.
