Possible bug?

Is it just me or is anyone else not able to use the quote button or other script buttons in edit mode without wiping out the rest of your previous response.

Also, it seems that when cutting and pasting from other posts, like you might do to quote someone, it only allows a certain amount to be cut and pasted before it drops the rest of the text.

If its not just me, would it be possible to fix this? Thanks.

Yeah, it's a problem. Those buttons have always cleared out the entire text of the message. That's been around for ages, since I can remember and longer.

As for a quoting limit, its possible, but if you're reaching that limit you're quoting WAY too much.

It happens even if its only a few sentences. Usually if there is a space between parts of it more than just a few clicks of the space bar it seems.

Like if I highlight copy and paste your whole response and use the quote button after hitting reply, it drops the last sentence.

I learned that the hard way, too.
There is a way to avoid disaster. It's much less hassle in my opinion to just type in the code

or whatever code you need.

Or, do your quote first and then insert you comments where needed.

Yeah, as DTOM said, the surest way is to learn to use the BB Code manually.

e.g.

Quoting: [quote][i]Originally posted by Blahdude[/i]
blah blh blah blahdee blah[/quote]

Italics: [i]blah more blah[/i]

Bold: [b]Bolded blah[/b]

Link: blah blah site

(Change the squiggly brackets [] to square brackets [] and you're set.)
