FBI says man killed during Provo raid pointed revolver at agents

Since my thread remains closed, I'll post an update here:

“The FBI continues to review an agent-involved shooting which occurred around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in Provo, Utah. The incident began when special agents attempted to serve arrest and search warrants on 75-year-old Craig Deeleuw Robertson at his home for threats to elected officials and law enforcement officers,” the statement reads.

“Robertson resisted arrest and as agents attempted to take him into custody, he pointed a .357 revolver at them. The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force officers seriously. In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division,” the bureau said.

“We have no further details to provide at this time.” It’s also unclear whether the agents were wearing body-worn cameras during the raid.

So that's the statements from the FBI.

I still find the circumstances around all of this very suspect, although I will say that if the agents were presented with a firearm upon enacting their 615 AM raid on a known gun owner in his own home, then not only have we not learned from the past but we will continue to put agents and the accused in harms way.

Yeah, this is the kind of situation where you follow them when they leave the house and pull them over. 6am bashing the door in is just idiotic and dangerous to all involved. He obviously wasn't going to shoot Biden from his home.

To be fair, I am against all no-knock or night-time warrants when there is no imminent danger or time-sensitive nature. So many people on both sides have died in these situations and many were totally innocent bystanders or wrong addresses.

Street Cops all across America wear Body-Cams , you expect me to believe that an FBI tactical team on this High-Profile raid didn't have Body-Cams . I was born but not yesterday .

Lets see the Raid Footage and I'll step aside and say nothing else. How many inner-city shootings have we seen on the Evening News with in days of the Shooting .

I call BS. The FBI should not have been in there in a raid at 6:15am. Period. If someone came by my house that early, and I saw people outside with guns. I would not be asking who is out there. I would have been blasting through the door. I would not be looking for a warrant to come sliding underneath my door. If the FBI is that stupid. I don’t know what to say. All the blame goes to them. I think that policy should be changed to 'no cameras on, you don't have a job anymore.'

Simple solution to a lot of problems. I also don't believe in no knock raids. They endanger everyone including the neighbors. A simple traffic stop when they leave is safer.

Well, at one time it was. Still is supposed to be but I have many questions about that in the recent years.

Not just a old 75 year old man, but he was also the primary care taker if his 50 yr old blind son. Pretty sure this guy wasnt going to actually follow through with any of his threats.

FBI easilly could have arrested this man when he was heading to church on sunday.

only local and state cops wear body cams. the whole point of that is like everything else. They want all cops to be federal cops. Why do people not believe me when I say this?

Its a gradual procession. The more they get on camera, the more they can scream racism, then the locals will start thinking that only from DC can we stomp out all this horrible racism. They will come in first with more funds and then little by little put their people in.

I would say that if things keep going the way they are we will all have federales as police enforcement within 25 years.

When the government suspects a citizen of wrongdoing it's called an investigation; when a citizen suspects the government of wrongdoing it's called a conspiracy.

I don't expect the whole truth to ever be told.

THAT is the point of a no knock raid,to drive the people inside to be on alert and be armed so they can kill them legally. Is set up to mimic a robbery on purpose.

Same/very similar crime, very different execution and result.

U.S. Secret Service agents contacted Fiorenza and arranged a meeting in early June 2023. According to the charging documents, agents offered to meet in a public venue, her residence, or the Chicago Field Office, where she ultimately agreed to be interviewed.

During the interview, Fiorenza was shown copies of the emails and admitted she wrote and sent them, authorities said. She was subsequently arrested.
