If worshipping and loving God for all eternity is the highest Gift and wonder God, for his namesake and glory provides, it is right and loving for Him to command it upon His creation and children He loves, who, having free will, certainly require the instruction and precepts and more, notwithstanding ample amount of grace and mercy and longsuffering, in this fallen corrupt world.
I see no problem. For our thoughts are not his thoughts. He is holy far beyond and sees the end of all things. This is where faith, trust, and hope come in. Look to the totality of the word I say before judging anything.
If an infinetely worthy being created you and put you into an infinite universe on earth, holy being the only place of life in its entirety, with all the wonders of creation (physics, chemistry, biology) life and loves you enough to die for you - is it right or wrong to not love him after he has given you free will to choose?
What authority do you have to question or judge what God commands when looking at the totality of His word and the attributes contained therein? For he further states, He has created clay pots for use and for destruction as the maker, is that not his perogative?

Man o man I thought I was good at reasoning out our Holy Fathers intentions.
But what you wrote here blew me away. Excellent!
