Seeing the same thing where I live. Certain cities you basically can't even drive through anymore, like the University towns. The cyclists like to bunch up, take over a street and block automobile traffic as much as they can. The cops do nothing unless a motorist loses it and starts running down the cyclists.

I see them as human waste on 2 wheels.
I wouldn't be surprised if they're the same people behind the anti-oil protests, sitting down in the middle of the roads blocking all traffic. I couldn't handle that, I'd definitely lose my cool , especially knowing it's all part of an agenda to constrict our freedoms further (15 minute cities, no cars etc)

Speaking as someone who values my own skin when I am out on the bike, I have to say that the cyclist in that video was proper dumb trying to undertake there. Speaking as someone who works in motor insurance, I would not feel confident in making the claim against the van driver go away, since he also had a duty of care since he was turning, and he breached that duty of care because he hit the cyclist, at best I would be hoping for 20 percent contributory negligence if I was handling the case for the van driver, the new highway code makes it all but impossible to avoid blame from a more at risk road user.

For me there's fault with both parties as the van didn't indicate his turn . a particular bugbear of mine , indicators aren't an optional extra , the cyclist was to close and intent on making his move if he'd been further back he wouldn't have connected the van.

strictly speaking, the van didnt need to indicate as it was a left turn only lane I think.

The cyclist does seem to go a bit wide, but like I said earlier, since the changes to the Highway code it is very difficult indeed to get away with no blame when hitting a more vulnerable road user.

I have noticed recently while cycling the new trend o those elrctric stand up scooter riders, they ride on the road at 50 kilometres an hour don’t stop at red lights nor wear safety gear.

I can’t understand why they are worse than cyclists

Fear not, Darwin's law will eliminate the worst offenders and the rest might learn to conform to traffic. Don't even get me started on mountain bikers who are clueless about the amount of damage they do riding off road or even worse off trail. The worst are the thrill riders who want to build "stunts" (ramps, jumps) but never think a young child might decide to try only crash and severely injure themselves. I once found a ramp probably 120' long raised 5 feet from the ground leading to a 30' jump through the air to dirt on the other side of a ravine. It must have taken them weeks to build but only an hour of chainsaw to bring it down. They will ruin parks in very short order if not disciplined about where and how they ride.
