Former ABC News producer pleads guilty to transportation and possession of child pornography

A former ABC News producer pleaded guilty Friday to illegally transporting and possessing materials depicting child sexual abuse, the Justice Department announced Friday.

James Meek was arrested in February on charges he engaged in sexually graphic conversations as he sent and received child pornography images dating back to at least 2014.

Meek resigned from ABC after his residence was searched in April of 2022 following a tip sent to the FBI's Washington Field Office that reported child pornography was found on a Dropbox cloud storage account that had a username associated with Meek.

According to documents in his plea, Meek admitted he used an online messaging platform that depicted minors to discuss his sexual interest in children, including one that depicted an infant being raped.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in the Eastern District of Virginia District Court on Sept. 29 and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years, with a maximum penalty of 20 years for each charge, according to the Justice Department

I don't want to say anything further because he has already pleased guilty to possession and transportation of child pornography, facing up to 40 years in jail, with a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years.

But was he the guy who wanted to debunk pizzagate altogether?! Regardless of whether pizzagate was true or not, I find the whole thing very contradicting.

I wonder who found the porn in his Dropbox account? It must have been someone he knew that had access or it was hacked as this was then reported to the FBI. Maybe this person that turned him in tried blackmail and it didn't work. I'm surprised the FBI even did anything about it unless this guy was politically targeted.

He had been getting away with this activity for at least nine years, probably more, then now he gets caught, I wonder why? He may have become a liability with someone else higher up the pecking order.

Valid point.

Really hope he runs into a father in prison.
And he meets a very painful end.

I have no sympathy, nor can I find any reason, why people like this should be allowed to continue to breathe.

Was he so invested in debunking pizzagate because it was real and he was an avid member ?
And his fellow travelers didn’t quite trust his dedication to the coverup, and figured he’d be easier to handle in the prison for a few decades ?
We sure are seeing lots of individual pieces that resemble what was described as pizzagate, going straight to guilty pleas.
Seems like the big debunk was a helluva lot less true than the original story.

Wasn't it ABC News, that nixed the New York local TV story Epstein news story way back in 2012?

Yeah, too bad Carlin’s “it’s a big club and we aren’t in it” is so true, but so much more nasty and sinister than his cute little joke suggested.

Is it any surprise the media was really annoyed by the success of The Sound of Freedom?

I pointed this out in the threads about the movie. Many media elites were among Epstein's friends when it was common knowledge he was trafficking children.

But no, there's no overarching conspiracy of child trafficking. It's only been exposed as completely embedded in the Church, in colleges, in Hollywood, Boy Scouts, and how many other places. Yeah I'm sure politics and journalism, two of the sleaziest institutions in our society, are totally clean.

I vaguely remember he tried to debunk pizzagate. Everything seems to have been false according to him and the mainstream media.

2 CNN producers over the last couple years have been arrested and or terminated for similar reasons..

Do you have think Ghislaine Maxwell could have had some dirt on him ,and used it as a plea deal ? Or…. He’s in the list - black book that Epstein had ? Just a thought , no proof .
