Unlikely to have been a stroke.
His colleague, apparently the one who asked if their was anything else Mitch wanted to say, is a doctor.
If a stroke had been suspected, the doctor would have run the FAST (Face, Arm, Speech, Time.) protocol.
Since Mitch showed no stroke signs in his face or arm, the protocol was bypassed.
I'm sorry I just finished laughing .
His colleague is a Politician First then a Doctor .
and if you think for a second he would have run the FAST in front of cameras literally confirming a stroke to the world then you are beyond naive.

amazing how everyone agrees on this item, but it's never brought up as a bill.
Not exactly a surprise, is it?
Many in their 70's are cognitively fit and able, BUT, I have seen time and time again a sudden and dramatic decline happen out of the blue.
That is not ageist, it is a harsh reality of what happens when anyone ages, it is for the safety of the nation. Those who keep running after the age of 70 are power hungry narcissists and are doing a disservice to the nation and even putting it in danger.

Fox News is reporting that the fall that ended up giving McConnell his concussion wasn't his first fall this year.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) fell while leaving a plane earlier this month, NBC News reported Wednesday after the 81-year-old lawmaker froze up in mid-speech during a news conference.
The accident at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport had not been revealed publicly, according to the network. McConnell did not appear seriously hurt and returned to the Capitol that day, but the details were concerning.
A flight with McConnell onboard was canceled on July 14, prompting the senator to disembark. He tripped and fell in a mishap described as a “face plant” by a passenger who did not witness it but spoke to someone who did, NBC reported. That same passenger also said they spoke to another person on the flight who aided McConnell afterward.
McConnell, who contracted polio as a child, broke his rib and sustained a concussion in a fall in March. He fractured a shoulder in an accident in 2019.
An unidentified Republican senator told the network after McConnell suddenly went silent on Wednesday: “He’s definitely slower with his gait” and has not addressed health issues in meetings.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein had to be reminded to “just say aye” Thursday when the 90-year-old Democrat appeared confused during a vote in the Senate Appropriations Committee and launched into a speech instead.
California’s longtime senior senator, who earlier this year was absent from the chamber for three months due to an illness and complications from the shingles virus, sailed into a speech on the defense appropriations bill after Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) nudged her for a response on the vote.
“Say aye. Aye. Just say―” Murray said.
“I would like to support a yes vote on this. It provides $823 billion,” Feinstein said. “That’s an increase of $26 billion for the Department of Defense, and it funds priorities submitted―”
An aide rushed to Feinstein’s side to whisper to her before Murray spoke up again.
“Just say aye,” Murray said.
“OK, just―” said Feinstein as she turned to Murray, who was seated to her left.
“Aye,” Murray repeated, prompting a chuckle from the California Democrat.
“Aye,” Feinstein finally said.
A Feinstein spokesperson told Fox News that the committee was trying to “complete all of” its appropriations bills before the August recess ― adding that it “was a little chaotic” and senators were “constantly switching back and forth between statements, votes, and debate and the order of bills.”
“The senator was preoccupied, didn’t realize debate had just ended and a vote was called. She started to give a statement, was informed it was a vote and then cast her vote,” the spokesperson said.

Looks like it happened again. McConnell froze for a good 30 seconds while the press were seeking him questions.
