Good one,I had to go through everything on mine, they do say that the older fiberglass boats are better than the newer ones because they didn't stint on the resin, as soon as the resin prices went up they started pulling it back.

Thanks for heads up. Over the years I have done a lot of reading. Always fancied getting a Vancouver 28. However, I do wonder if a van be better as there many places in Australia to explore and/or hide out. Given current finances I don't have to make that decision anytime soon.

Honestly if it was an actual SHTF scenario, I'd just steal whatever I wanted to fly every time I got to a new airport with flyable aircraft anyway.

Maules are good airplanes, if you get past the look. Haha. They have a huge rear door capable of throwing in a 55 gallon barrel too.

I still think the SuperCub or the homebuilt clone cubs is one of the better choices, short landing and takeoffs off strip is key. Land pretty much anywhere. Plus the fact you can still burn auto gas.

My first choice to bug out is up in the Yukon Territory, next would be eastern north Alaska.

Also one note people tend to not think about is that aviation fuel 100LL can be stored almost indefinitely without going bad. There are fuel caches all over AK, just need to know where they are hidden.

I'll stick to my mule.

Incredible range.

Runs on most any fuel.

No landing strip needed.

Will get you to places even a small helicopter won't go.
