IMO the Mainstream News forum needs a Symbol-Icon Change.

The icon/symbol for the ATS "Mainstream News" forum is currently a DONKEY and an ELEPHANT.

The Donkey(Ass) is the symbol used by the U.S. Democrat Party.

The Elephant is the symbol used by the U.S. Republican Party.

Since MAINSTREAM NEWS in this country/world consists of more than POLITICS, do you think another symbol would be more applicable to this particular forum?

If so, WHICH SYMBOL?

Maybe the forum owners/moderators will use one of your suggestions, if they feel a change is needed.

How about just the 3 letters "MSM" in the icon, if the forum is about whatever main stream media is pushing?

...I'd always assumed it was solely a US politics thing because of the obvious Dem/Rep symbols, and I'm from the UK lol

The logo should imply the Main-Stream Media. North East West South.
I'm just not sure how this would translate outside of English.

Maybe the word "Alternative" (What does that mean anyway?) would be removed from the name, and it can be the primary News Forum.

The Donkey-Elephant forum could return to what it used to be years ago... The "Breaking Political News" forum.

But the I-95 Bridge Collapse in Philadelphia is a Mainstream News item. Would the Eyeball Balloon Satellite work with stories of local "disasters" like that?

Like the I-95 collapse.....how do we even know that really happened man???
And if it did happen it was done on purpose by some contractor to get a nice contract to repair the bridge...that makes more sense if you really think about it...

About 90% of the things we interact with every day are the result of "Politics". From the condition of the roads you drive on, to how much your meals cost. Avoiding politics is easier if you're ultra wealthy. Maybe you are? I am not.

Thankyou for explaining how the forum defines "Alternative News".

Ironically, Alternative News outlets are far more enlightening than Mainstream News, as to the TRUTHS of this world and society.

I brought up the subject of the DONKEY - ELEPHANT as not being appropriate for a "Breaking News" forum, because a foreign guy/gal who's not familiar with American Politics may have been the recent purchaser of AboveTopSecret.com.
