I am not complaining about being offended. I find it laughable you want to come in here and claim you know what MY thread is about and why I wrote it.

This thread is about the observations of society I have made over time; People becoming offended by anything and everything that, most of the time, does not even involve them.

Why would you bring up transfolk, something on your mind there? That has not been uttered in this thread, because it's not about trans people, its not about anyone in particular. It is a societal observation in general.

Why are we turning into a society that is so easily hurt and devastated by the words of others? Where did everything go down hill? Why do I have to think twice about what I want to say because if I say it around the wrong person they will misconstrue what I said and turn me into a racist, bigot, transphobe, etc.

This is complaining, plain and simple. This is your opinion of society that I don't share and don't experience. Maybe you are looking for the wrong things in society and from people. Are you triggered much?

We're a product of our environment, produce an environment with no substance and you produce people with no substance, hence the world we live in today.

So asking a simple, rhetorical, question is complaining?

You do experience it, you are probably just part of the group getting offended. You know, kind of how you are offended by me calling out those who are so easily offended by everything.

I am not looking for anything, I am observing the decay of society.

I mean when I wake up in the morning i usually trigger pain in my joints by getting out of bed.

People that make a mistake that affects other's can simply take ownership of the mistake and apologize with a promise to be more cognizant of other's next time. To a large degree.

Going against the grain and do what noone else does, it is like turning on a light in a dark place.

Teamwork makes the dream work.

If you make a mistake, by all means, own up to it.

I am not talking about mistakes, I am talking about simple things like having a conversation in public. Someone hears you say something they don't agree with, when they were not part of the convo to begin with, then confront you and make you to feel bad for saying or doing what you did. No mistake was made, there was nothing to own up to or fix.

All media, in my opinion.

But yes, social media is a huge player in this issue

By commenting on this thread you are furthering my point, now aren't you?

I am not the one complaining about being offended by those who get offended and I don't claim to be someone who minds their own business. However, societal study is one of my interests and as such I involve myself in it. What really is this thread about? Transfolk being offended? Because that seems to be the #1 societal topic that the majority of ATS want to concern themselves with.

you are complaining about someone else, whom you presume to be offended by others being offended. In essence, you personify the SJW. Social Justice Warrior. Searching high and low for someone with a cause to be championed. Like finding that one native American who was offended by the name adopted by the Cleveland ball team, and made them change the name. Or someone who joins in tearing down statues because there was someone who claimed to be frightened by it.

Hold your tiki torch proudly and march on to the next cause.

If what you were saying in earshot of others which could be taken as offensive, why not own up to it then? Just tell them, yeah stand up to them and say, yeah I said it and I don't feel bad about it, it's what I truly feel and believe. Somehow whatever offensive things you are saying in public that you don't mind people within earshot hearing, that you really would not feel bad about it.

Why do I need to own up to something I said when it's none of their business that I said it in the first place?

If I have said it, that is owning up to it, I don't need to come up with any other reasoning behind it.

An individual's past actions and statements are important if they want to be a leader or controller, now or in the future.

The US does not have true leaders anymore, we have dictators that want to call themselves leaders.

Past actions are only brought up if they fit the narrative and keep the better option from being viewed as eligible.

These type of people, like this liberal daughter, are virtue signalling trolls trying to elevate themselves by baiting and then belittling others that don't follow their progressive liberal ideas. The have the backing of others like themselves and are emboldened by these trends that are being used as political weapons. I also suspect that they have self image issues, feel a lack of control in their lives and feel they must lash out to try and gain control of the situation.

These are the herd mentality types with interests formed and directed by outside agendas. They are often referred to as useful idiots. Eventually they will outlive their usefulness and be discarded after they have served their true purpose in the bigger political picture.

Why is everybody so offended/upset/attacked by everything now a days?

This is human nature, and is a trait that's as old as sand. The Bible, for example, is filled with prophets singling out groups of people that they don't approve of to complain about. People tend to bond around issues of contention they can agree on. People want to be included in some kind of "us", and for that to succeed, there needs to be a "them".

It's all so familiar.

It seems almost every day I scroll through Facebook, Fox News, ATS, etc. and see some sob story of somebody being offended by one thing or another.

people are offended far too easily, free speech means you need to support what might be offensive too.

I think the political left promotes hypersensitivity to divide us

and they (the left) can say 'support us, we'll protect you against these mean old/white/Christian/conservative/regressive/non-woke people'.

Believe me you don't offend me, but then I'm cisgender white, so you most likely would not be saying anything offensive about cisgender whites, now would you?

I can say you're a conformative type.

I am not biased in who or what I will say something about, whether you get offended or not is up to you, not me. I never say offensive things. Otherwise everybody would be offended by what I say, would they not?
