Are we in for a big boom 61,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate

It seems 30 tons of explosives have just gone missing , Not sure the angle they are taking .Are they saying it fell out the the hopper car ? They are also saying the car was still sealed when it arrived but at the same time show pictures of bag that contain the ammonium nitrate . If it was sealed when it arrived that would mean it never made it to the car which would point to a inside job ?

Approximately 61,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate, a chemical used as both fertilizer and an ingredient in explosives, went missing when it was shipped by rail from Wyoming to California last month, prompting officials to begin investigating the mysterious disappearance.

I was under the impression it was a bulk load, making a leaky bottom gate seem possible, though unlikely. Being in small bags and then large bags makes it see even more unlikely to be an unfortunate 'leak', IMO.

Yeah but that train can't be the only one on that Route someone would have noticed 30 tons blowing on the tracks . hopefully it's not the beginning of a false flag or even worse with all the border breaches ...

Ammonium nitrate is shipped loose in hopper cars when it’s in large quantities. As for it being explosive, that depends on if it is low density or high. This may have been a simple fertilizer shipment.

Does low or high density matter when using it in 'destructive' recipes?

Wouldn't there have been a thorough investigation of the car , A leak or open hopper should be pretty easy to find you would think .

Do we know if it was a bulk shipment or in bags? I can totally see a leaky rail car, and this leaking out a little at a time, giving the weeds and grass a nice boost along the route, but I have a hard time grasping how that much of anything could be unloaded without being noticed. It would take a lot to transfer it to another vehicle.

No boom unless someone wants to sift through ~1000 miles of track ballast for it.

Stuff is long since blown or washed away.

I didn't realize the trip took that long! I imagine there were stops along the way, and maybe the hopper gate was 'damaged' at one of these stops, allowing the fertilizer to 'leak' out between destinations?

better hope the cartels aren't planning a attack
too people coming in without registering with authorities
