If you live in the middle of no where like I do and you sit and watch the night sky you have probably noticed those slow moving lights in the sky. I'm sure some will say it's just satellites. Maybe they are but I don't think so. Let me tell you why.

Anyway, every morning between 3a and 5a is usually when I start seeing them. I have seen them move very slow and I have seen them move fast. There is no consistency. I have seen them light up extremely bright and then go completely dark. Then they move and light up really bright again and then go dark. Kind of a slow blink. This morning I saw something that I have never seen before. Two were moving together. One was above the other. Probably around three feet apart moving slowly. It was like they were attached together but I couldn't see what was keeping them together. Then the brighter one goes out and I could no longer see it but I could see the lighter one.

Anyone else experience seeing these things and what do you think they are? Also, if you think they are satellites, why do they have lights on them. Also, who changes the light bulb? 😉

I know Starlink satellites usually go in long rows but sometimes they have a one or two unit occurrence.

Perhaps you can use this link to see if they correlate to where you are?

Satellites have solar panels on them that reflect. As it rotates the reflection can wink out, and then come back as it comes around again. It looks odd thru night vision lenses, kinda gets you spooked at first. The sky is actually very busy.

Yeah who knows what they could be.

Where I live in the northern suburbs of Detroit, MI, I very rarely see anything unexplainable in the sky.
We also have Selfridge ANG base about 3 miles away.

But a few years ago, we stayed for a week at our friend’s house in the northern part of the Lower Peninsula, about 50 miles south of the Mackinac bridge.
Small town, pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

We saw strange stuff in the sky almost every night.
It even stumped our friend and her boyfriend that live up there year round, they said they never really pay much attention, which is weird in itself.

Between 3-5am is when you're more likely to see satellites. They're reflecting the rising sun which hits the upper atmosphere and space where they are a few hours before actual sun rise. Just depends on how high they are.

The majority of them move south to north or the opposite way, the rest typically go eastward. There's exceptions and of course the "non movers" that are in geosynchronous orbit.

Might be worth downloading a tracker app

Fireflies, planes, helicopters, satellites, meteorites, drones, bats, birds, insects, parachutes with lights and flares.
