This article is talking about how the city of Chicago did not bargain in good faith before implementing their vaccine mandate on unions when they unilaterally implemented the mandates on everyone.

The board’s administrative judge found Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s administration didn’t bargain as it should have. The judge ordered the city to reinstate any employee fired because of the vaccination policy and make them whole for the loss of any pay or benefits with 7% interest.

However, the board tells WGN-TV News the decision is not final. The city has 30 days to file an appeal, known as an exemption, before the full board makes a final decision.

Lightfoot’s spokesman called the order “an erroneous decision that does not follow the law, facts or importantly the science” and said “we are currently reviewing the ruling and evaluating next steps.”

wgntv.com...

Another one bites the dust. Didn't New York already have to reinstate and backpay workers fired over the mandate? What will be the next domino? Will the city appeal this? Will they win? The article says this could extend into the new mayor's term so how will he approach this issue? Isn't it always an "erroneous decision" when anyone disagrees with a liberal?

Back pay and interest!
Of course this is years worth of work now so that's a huge amount of money and anyone who lost their job over this had to change their life entirely, back pay just won't cut it.

Maybe next time logic and reason should come into play

And with what money is Chicago going to do this? My understanding is that Illinois is pretty well broke.

“an erroneous decision that does not follow the law, facts or importantly the science” The science? The science of what? The science of firing without cause and not paying people?

I think these press statements are written by a malfunctioning AI.

Lol.

"... doesn't follow the science.." There it is again.

Pathetic. Too bad her replacement is already showing his true intentions. Anywhere that's soft on crime is a death trap.

If you can move away from such jurisdictions, your survival rate increases exponentially.

An example:

Oakland, CA.. aka "The Detroit of the Bay" (except Detroit still has their teams) just lost the A's which effectively puts the nail in Oakland's future.

Oakland is done. Live or visit there at one's own peril.

Progressive policies ran the pro teams out of Oakland just like they ran all the retail stores out of Eastmont Mall decades ago.

Oakland can't survive itself, nor can any other city operating under these policies.

Get out while you can because the toilet is circling.

What i find notable about this whole ordeal is that traditionally, if you listen to MSM, the democrats are the ones who support unions. Big bad Republicans don't. But here we have democrats not even negotiating or bargaining with the unions they so "support". Here is CNN on democrats and labor unions during the rail issues. Pretty good example of double talk. Double think. Authoritarianism and honestly pandering when they know they are just going to do whatever the global elites tell them to do.

There’s some irony in the fact that these flexes of labor muscle come as Democrats, labor’s natural ally, control the White House and both chambers of Congress.

www.cnn.com...

Democrats. "labor's natural ally" until they want to impose totalitarian measures on everyone.

They'll just raise the price I have to pay for license plates yet again, or something like that. That's how they'll get the money. It's always how they get the money here in Illinois. The dirty rotten scoundrels!

Illinois has been losing 230 people @ day to other states and countries, since 2015. Tax and fee increases will continue to escalate, because Democrats insist on maintaining the same size government they had in 2015, when 40% of them could be terminated now, and not be missed. Americans don't understand "bloat" though. You say "cut $$$ from________" and everyone freaks out.

The taxypayer I'm sure. These lawsuits/backpays are worthless, because the guilty party is never made to pay.
Only if it's regular people

Bwahahaha! "They" are "reviewing" the ruling... like they can just call up the judiciary and yell "Backsies... Do over!"

This is a ruling... not an exparte utterance... they can rail all they like, but the next act has to be either pop it up the chain of adjudication or comply.

Political theater... they just don't get how funny they are.

Those responsible for the scandal should be indicted.

I am sure there are good lawyers and if their is pressure and political will then everything can happen. Especially from those who have been affected and their families.

An emergency under false pretenses, aided by not treating patients or sticking them on ventilators, while discouraging any form of pretreatment and deliberately not telling the public how effective vitamin D is in helping the body naturally fight off infection
