The simple truth is that some of us are old enough and from places where it was not at all uncommon for kids to ride in to school with gun racks, with guns, and loaded ones in their pickups all the time. No one thought anything of it. No one ever shot anyone although we did have the usual school fights.

Guns have always been there. Always, but this shooting thing has not.

So it isn't the guns or their prevalence that have changed. It's society, and if you want to find your answers, that's where you need to look. Removing the guns doesn't change anything about the problem or what is making it.

Apparently Nashville's Trans Day of Vengeance is scheduled for this weekend. Talk about bad optics for them.

All I was trying to say is that NO American that I have ever met..You included is that gd attached to their thundersticks (seriously). We have sense about it, and know if it wasn't guns it would be something else. Im saying there's room and that what some see as a hard line and are repelled by is simply a communication barrier that must be overcome.

I as well come from a place where guns are behind every recliner and in every pickup. No big deal. Just sayin even the most ardent gun person isn't without compassion for these events and that 'should' be a uniting type of deal..somewhere for common ground.

Maybe we should ban gun sales to transgender people. They seem emotionally unstable amongst other things. That and lock all the doors so you have to buzz them in.
That would have prevented this horrible event.

my entire life (I am 50) we the legal gun owners have bent over backwards to try and help the situation.

The numbers have gotten steadily worse since the 1990's, I will not bend anymore any politician that genuflects to disarming law abiding citizens deserves to lose their job and I will do what I can to assist in getting them voted out of office and their terrible legislative ideas removed legally.

they are a bloody menace, hunting season with no bag limit is the only way to put a dent in their numbers.

Also they are tasty if you get em young, about 100 lbs plus or minus 15 lbs dressed.

Enlighten me, what "common sense" laws would have changed todays tragedy?

Give up my right to privacy?

Give up my constitutionally protected right to own a firearm?

Or maybe I dont know, to borrow a common phrase form the clown show in charge... get to the root cause and lets get back to treating mental illness, not just prescribe a pill and move on.

We have a HUGE mental health problem in this country, and its been ignored a long long time and the chickens are coming home to roost unfortunately.

Yep, that’s why I said fortify, it’s not like we don’t have the tech to resolve this. I’d hate to see our schools fortified like prisons but if that’s where we’re at which it seems to be, so be it.
