Yeah that's what i mean, it's far from perfect but indexes far more results than google and without so much of a slant toward orthodoxy. Set as your default search engine, especially for topics like you're suggesting.

Much appreciated, that's the issues I'm having and was looking to get past. This was not the case just two years ago. I didn't have much trouble at all finding what I was looking for, but for some reason these last two plus years ago I can't find jack. 🤔

I went to my settings to change my search engine, and duck duck was one of the five options. I'm on there two seconds, and wow...what a difference.

Btw: I typed "alien conspiracy sites" and bam, I got four new good ones, plus ATS was number 5.

Preesh.

Who owns this site?

What are their motivations?

Why does this place still exist?

I'd like to add:

Which agencies do some that walk among us on these forums have ties to?

What's with the code breaker challenges that pop up every now and then after which the OP simply disappears, sometimes finding someone to recruit perhaps?

There's definitely levels to this place, that's a fact.

I see a great OP there.

I wouldn't.

I'm not trying to turn it into a ghost hunt, I'm just intrigued by what I perceive as hidden in plain sight.

ATS fascinates me on so many levels, and I suspect it will continue to do so for many years to come as a lady such as ATS knows all too well that an air of mystery keeps the romance burning bright.

No doubt. I really enjoy this one. This is actually the only place on the internet that I converse with others. My tiny little incognito corner of the internet I mingle in.
I can't stand any of the rest of the garbage out there. Here there are not only insightful and thought provoking, but respectful (for the most part) even with hard topics conversations here. You won't see me anywhere else on the internet, but ATS is cool in my book.

Google: original motto "don't be evil", new motto "Big Brother?! pshaw! Hold my coffee..."

When Google became a key-pillar of the Alphabet-Agencies Community, they literally change their name to "Alphabet" to tell you so.

Google has been fudging search results (if they search at all) as far back as 2005, that I personally know of. (Probably longer, but it takes us all a while to catch on.) If you are still using Google, I can recommend cups of Kool-Aid ™ from Guyanna that may be healthier for you.

Axiom: Every purveyor of "News" has a slant/bias. This is unavoidable.
Corollary: Every purveyor of "Search Results" may also have a slant/bias.

As you should consume news from several sources, and hope that something like the truth lies somewhere inbetween: so too you should try several search engines. 75% of existing search-engines just piggy-back off Google or Bing. These search Google for you, and return the results to you "anonymously"... this provides you with a little buffer to Google's really super creepy data-hoovering, but you still won't have escaped the Google-bubble of acceptable non-thought-crime.

Remember that the folks who should have been championing and defending your democratic freedoms, are actively promoting Censorship Surveillance Social-Engineering and in some cases either incarceration or re-education for thought-crime.

Even Duck-Duck-Go finally buckled under the pressure to start limiting your search-result exposure to unacceptable narratives (this about a year ago).

I would list alternative search engines here, but that would make them more targeted for "moderation" and assimilation-to-the-Borg. Search for "search engines". Find some new ones. Search THOSE for "search-engines". Compare results to Google and Bing or DuckDuckGo to discern if they are just repackaging Google's damaged goods. Don't rely on just one search engine. That's like only reading the NYTimes (ha ha ha!) to understand reality. Remember what happened to both Google and DuckDuckGo... they have both been "gotten to" to differing degrees. When you do find better search engines, remember that over months or years, they too will become corrupted / compromised.

The above suggestion: to read forums and follow links to sites that don't appear in any of the list works really well for me. Some of my favorite sites have been found this way. None of my favorite sites have I found by following search result suggestions.
Before the invention of the printing press and newspapers, information moved by word-of-mouth. Despite or because of our vastly superior technology, we are back to word-of-mouth being the most reliable means of finding interesting news, info, and sites.

Good luck!

When readin through forums that allow comments (in order to find links to off-the-grid news): learn to recognize obvious Trolling behaviour -- the Concern-Troll, the Discussion-Derailment-Troll, the AdHominem Assault-Troll, the Racist/Anti-Semite-Troll (attempting to tarnish the entire discussion)... I don't understand the full taxonomy of Troll sub-species, but the important thing is to notice if Trolls are there, and mounting a concerted campaign against the site.

Yes there are jerks living in their mom's basement, but the Trolls I'm talking about are on Nation-State payrolls. Their attention and effort is a valid indicator, that you've discovered unapproved narratives. They are paid to reinforce the approved narrative, and to blunt or distort constructive analysis.

Obviously, don't follow links posted by the Trolls.

In between the Trolls, however, if lucky, you may find some really intelligent people. Lurk for a long while. Watch for the repeat comments by "the regulars" on that forum. When these people post links, that is when you may discover links of interest, unapproved news, better forums, sites that don't appear in most search-results.

The most egregious Trolls usually flush their username & accounts in a few weeks. Again, these are paid disruptors & sock-puppets. It takes time to understand the non-Troll community, but you are looking for long-term commenters, who have insight and worthwhile analysis.

Good luck.

I appreciate you taking the time to write that thought out so thoroughly.

I'll do that search for other search engines since it is several different views (or leans) I'm looking for. It's getting harder and harder to find anything of use in the subjects I need, or anything for that matter.
It's unnerving to think how "free" we really aren't.

Just for grins and giggles , I switched to good old MS "Bing" .
Danged if ATS did not come up on the top .
Go figure .

Anyone who has been on the internet a long time knows that this isn't always how Google worked. There was a time when searching anything related to conspiracies would bring up ATS in the results. In fact I found ATS through Google because it was once one of the most popular websites on the internet, I believe we were once in the top 20 or even top 10 most visited websites on the internet. And ATS is still probably the biggest repository of conspiracy-related information. The simple truth is that Google no longer presents their search results in an unbiased and uncensored way like they did in the old days.

Duckduckgo doesn't show anything from this site either with the search term 'conspiracy theory site.' I'm running it on Opera, which I think does use the chrome engine.

What was apparent to me when running searches for ATS based on the Meta Title code in the pages is that there a lot of other results using those particular organic search terms and ATS did OK. Below are lines 9 and 10 of the ATS home page source code . . .

meta property="og:title" content="AboveTopSecret.com - Conspiracy Theories, UFOs, Paranormal, Politics, and other "alternative topics" - home page for Monday, March 13, 2023"

meta property="og:description" content="AboveTopSecret.com - Conspiracy Theories, UFOs, Paranormal, Politics, and other "alternative topics" - home page for Monday, March 13, 2023"

The search engines also use page text and links (both internal and external) related to the frequency of key words when producing search results. So using 9 or 10 keywords based on title and content may be specific enough to produce a higher search result ranking. The more competition, the more need to be keyword heavy on the website end as well as the person's keywords during their searches.
