I'm pretty sure they have been telling people for the last 20+ years to stay the F out of that sh#thole, but people don't listen.

You are kind of wide brushing the country there. The border areas outside of a few areas have been criminal hot spots since Columbia ran the cartel out of their country in the 2000s. Go south and you do not have any issues...

In this case I'm assuming these women were Mexican or first gen Mexican/Americanas and that would make sense to them bringing clothes to a Mexican market.

If the country wasn't a sH#thole, they'd actually have a strong economy, eliminate their corrupt government and law officials, and actually take out the cartels.

If it wasn't such a s#hole they wouldn't be pouring over the border by the millions.

My mind does not work like what you suggest. Smart money is on fixing the problems, not fight or flight which is nonsense in my opinion. The only power our government has is the power we give it.

This is way off-topic. This is for another thread.

It is not so much the Mexicans pouring over... So, what is your point? Go walk the streets of Chicago this weekend and report back.

Wasn't it last month that Biden, Trudeau and Mexico's president had a meeting? Hmmm....wonder what they really talked about.

yeah it sucks, but you have to play the game. I lived in mexico for a year and a half, South america for three years, and the rule is keep your head down and don't attract problems. If you show that youre not worth anything they will generally leave you alone. Also it helps to have situational awarness/be aware of your surroundings.

the cartel only got bolder because of the lockdowns anyways

that is good advice for anywhere in the world, including in the US and even Canada. and don't "flaunt wealth", ie don't dress or act like you have a lot of money. like wearing an expensive watch or expensive looking jewelry. or openly carrying around an expensive cell phone. things that make you a target for thieves or kidnappers. but when outside North America or Europe, especially if you are white, you are even a target for cops to do things like false arrest and holding you, even charging you a bribe to make it all go away. one person i read about was an offshore worker, back home on vacation. the police arrested her for a murder (that she wasn't even in the country to commit at the time. and wanted the equivalent of $20,000 US (which was likely most of a year's pay where she was working at the time), to clear her of the murder charge. and something i learned living in Asia for a decade is that even a citizen of the country they are going back to visit, it can be dangerous. and depending on where you are, just the way you walk, which would be different than a native who hasn't lived outside the country, marks you as a "foreigner". as well as other possible tells from other not so obvious differences.

Pretty sure it's part of the propaganda....ramp up tensions between the US and Mexico so Biden can sweep in with a task force to investigate, or he's going to pretend to do something that makes it look like he might be ready to get 'tough' with our southern neighbor.

Definitely a good analysis and theory. I would add it could also be a way for the FBI to play the " good guys" role.
Of course they will have to take some man power away from the SDNY Sormy Daniels witch hunt, the Mar-a-Lago Trump raid witch hunt, the Special Counsel Twitter team and the election interference operations.
So come to think of it the "Biden trying to look tough against Mexico" theory is probably more likely.
Good call.

No need, That place is a s#hole too. I never said that certain places in the good ol USA weren't garbage either.
