Scientists Create Mice With Two Fathers After Making Eggs From Male Cells

Oh great.

As if Women's value to the Human Species isn't already on unstable footing, the misogyny continues.

Praise Science!

No way this could go wrong further down the line.

Scientists have created mice with two biological fathers by generating eggs from male cells, a development that opens up radical new possibilities for reproduction.

The advance could ultimately pave the way for treatments for severe forms of infertility, as well as raising the tantalising prospect of same-sex couples being able to have a biological child together in the future.

“Purely in terms of technology, it will be possible [in humans] even in 10 years,” he said, adding that he personally would be in favour of the technology being used clinically to allow two men to have a baby if it were shown to be safe.

Well, Ladies....it seems our future is nothing more than becoming a walking womb.

Joy and Awe.

Oh, Brave New World!

That's going to be one disfunctional mouse family lol

and yes this is absolutely wonderful for the world of science, they are opening us up to so much opportunity, so much winning! /s

Do they forsee womens' reproductive health diminishing in the near future? Or are they just trying to allow non-female partnerships to produce offspring?

I'm just thinking out loud, I probably don't want answers to those Qs anyways, sorry

Is the Guardian unreliable?

I don't keep abreast of that sort of thing, so I can't vouch for their veracity.

I tend to view most modern media as part of an eleaborate psyop, so I dunno what to think.

True False Talking Points to Keep People Entertained and Distracted Online.

Here's Nature.com with additional insights :

Researchers have been working towards this feat for years. In 2018, one team reported using embryonic stem cells made from sperm or eggs to generate pups with either two fathers or two mothers. The pups with two mothers survived to adulthood and were fertile; those with two fathers lived for only a few days1.

Why do they hate women so much?

I think you are fishing here. It probably was more along the lines of "# it, lets try it" mentality then "eradicate the women". You should not always presume the worst. It was just some years back they were talking about creating children with out sperm using cells from 2 different women. So why so angry? Why are you looking for things to be angry about. You are postulating from bias thinking instead of whole picture.

hmmm so in the end, they had to manipulate the male stuff to be an egg, and didn't just fuse two sperms together?

So you essentially have to take a XX, and make it an XY?

So an XX and a XX or an XY and an XY won't get you a foetus?

Like you essentially need a male and a female to reproduce in most species?

Interesting....

Is the Guardian unreliable?

It's not that they are "unreliable , it is more like they do as everyone else .
Take an "alleged" statement and make one think it is confirmed .
