Remember when Girls Scouts would go door to door to sell cookies
Not any more - too many dirt bags around
Parents take the order forms to work with them and post them in break room for people to sign up for how many cookies want
I get emails from my Lil cousin asking me to support. I can get them delivered. I do not care for their cookies so I just donate.
I use to be a girl scout when cookies were $2.50 per box. I went door to door. Later I was a leader for my kids troop in FL. . It is bad. The girls
only see a dollar a box come back to them.
The nut and magazine sale is a little more cash back. It is not nearly as popular.
With all the rules and regulations in a 3 inch thick binder and the mountian of paperwork to go anywhere. They are not very supportive of family. Just
girls and mothers. We went camping and the dads that wanted to go had to sleep in almost another park entirely.
The cubscouts allowed and wanted any and all family around. I know this because my son was a cubscout.
Anyway. They say that these sales help girls learn Bout business. They are also learning that they are being screwed. They do these community badge
projects which show them how to be a supportive member of society. As long as the leaders fill out mount paperwork if they ever do anything outside of
girls scouts meetings.
I get it liability and what not.
Support your local troop? Makes me laugh. And when they are selling they are trying to get badges and prizes. They are looked down upon by others (is
you have a leader who allows it ) , if you choose or can not sell your pre selected goals. Too much stress outside of school for these 2 week chaos
sales!
