Oh I understand perfectly clear, there's no reason to try to wrap my mind around the lunacy and try to make sense of it, it's unacceptable.

You have to pay several hundred dollars to have a TV in your home even if you can not afford cable or satellite and wish to receive terrestrial broadcasting.

We have something similar although there are well over 100 HD over-the-air broadcasts freely available to Americans.

We do have one of similar concept and they produce quality content, we call it PBS... and it relies on "donations by viewers like you" not forced taxation via the government.

That's a good point yeah, didn't think of that. They probably see Britain as a fellow empire or something, while a lot of Eastern European countries "aren't real nations".
