Future Space Warfare

A few things that bother me about Space warfare books and articles.

1. If you fire a sub-light missile and it does not have a timed or distance for self destruct, the missile will continue on in free flight until it hits something or is acted upon by some other force; like maybe hitting an unsuspecting planet or anything else.

There you are cruising along and “Boom” you hit some missile fired a few centuries ago. Yes space is big but, “STUFF HAPPENS.”

2. Going into battle in you Super Duper battle ship and not wearing a type of suit that would protect you and your crew from being spaced due to a direct hit upon your ship causing a breech is stupid.

To put out a fire in a compartment the quickest way is to evacuate the compartment's air to space or pump the air out..So a few people not suited and can not get out due to damage die or you lose the ship ? Stuff Happens

3. The bridge or command center should only be located in the center and best protect section of your ship. Beautiful view ports and the bridge on the top of your ship like a galaxy class star ship (think Enterprise) would be the first place targeted as the command center/nerve center for the whole ship's systems are connected at that location. Stuff Happens.

4. There is some speculation that some of the current objects being shot down are ALIEN ! Like those who have witnessed the Tic Tac vehicles (Commander Fravor and others) these things are so fast we do not have a missile that could catch them much less IMO would Aliens or even Alien A.I. be stupid enough to sit there and get shot down.

5. Just some thoughts and you may have other thoughts to add, thanks ?

Great minds think alike, or is it: the perks of being a conspiracy theorist?
I thought that too, since this is fiction:
At this point you expect ALIEN!s to have proven if they don't want you to shoot it down you won't. Yet here we are happily introducing unscanned (we actually have no scanner in this story) material in our environment, by shooting them down.
Virus Zombie Apocalypse perhaps?
Or eggs with ferocious predators?
Or nano bots?
...I like nano bots.
Oooh: what if they contain smart bundles, like releasing something in the air on explosion, then stuff that disperses while falling down, things that hang on and go underground on impact...
One could have all sorts of fun with this.
The catch: Prez BJ had no choice, either that or nuclear exchange with China... sthg like
Ping: I know you're weak, if anybody enters your airspace and you don't show a strong response, I'll blow you up.
BJ: Shoot everything on the radar down!

And bamm! Every sci-fi horror unfolds simultaneously!

1 Detonate when batteries go dead with prelaunch safetys of cource. Oh, if you release a missile without fireing the engines, that is a mine.

2 It won't matter. If a detonation is far enough away there is no danger. If it is closer, the entire crew is strawberry jelly on the walls of the ship. Will it matter to anyone if the jelly is in a burst plastic bag or just all over the surfaces?

Internal fire: It won't matter. If you have designed your spaceship to burn from a very far miss, that is on you. See 2 for the closer detonations.

3 It won't matter. Far detonations will be safe but see 2 for effective detonations.

4 If humans are shooting them down, they are not able to travel in space. Dimensional jump, possibly but not normal travel.

I think the boarding parties will be faught with swords, why ruin the ship you are capturing or your own ship with weapons that destroy the ships systems.
