Kansai Electric Power "No effect of radiation"

I just checked the net for update... nothing
The emergency shutdown was at 2:40 pm 1-30-23 Tokyo time.
An emergency meeting has taken place. I don't know what was being said other then there are 4 control rods ( ? ) and it seemed like 2 were not properly functioning so they shut the plant down.
The plant entered re-activation in November 2022.

I'll check around for more news. This was on NHK 9 pm news tonight.
Sorry guys that's all I know at the moment.

On the afternoon of the 30th, at Unit 4 of Kansai Electric Power's Takahama Nuclear Power Station in Fukui Prefecture, a signal was issued announcing an abnormality in the amount of neutrons, which indicates the state of nuclear fission in the reactor, and the reactor automatically shut down. The reactor has shut down normally and there are no problems with cooling the nuclear fuel so far, and the Kansai Electric Power Company and the Nuclear Regulation Authority are investigating the cause.

This happened before, and it was a non nuclear generator failure when they started feeding steam to the turbines.
The plant has had extensive safety upgrades in recent years so unlikely to be much doom porn news.

No doom , yes, and we all are happy about that.
I've been up there in Fukui cycling and camping. Beautiful area. I'd hate to see something tragic happen.
