So, any calculation of how much the Earth’s gravity well affected the path and if there will be a return?

I mean we may have captured another moon or just slingshot it into a death spiral or collision course with another body.

Nobody promised anything , the asteroid was discovered 6 days ago and NASA predicted it would pass by , closely ... which it did.
Predictions aren't 100% certainties so there was a small chance of it hitting but as usual NASA called it right.

Thing is what if a bigger one creeps up on us at short notice.

It was pretty cool looking at spaceweather.com and seeing “0 LD” listed as the distance!

Even that didn’t earn it the red banner color!

Besides, it is not an election year so I didn’t vote for it!!!
