hello fellow ATS'rs, I'm in need of help and hoping that the wealth of the collective minds and experience of this forum can assist.

I love the sound track from Twin Peaks, but it is not long, maybe about an hour. It is so wonderful as relaxing background music and just chill out music, especially as it is instrumental and gently meanders you along. So the question is, do you know of other pieces of music/sound tracks that are similar to the Twin Peaks one?

It is bed time (past in fact) here in UK so will check back tomorrow, I'm not ignoring you.

Thanks in advance 🙂

I realize there are some less than easy listening tracks on it, but I always enjoyed the lost highway soundtrack. Another David lynch film, I believe.

Silent Hill chill mix

Something like that maybe?

If you like the musicians singing, Julee Cruise's other songs are just as out there but enjoyable.

Thank you for the link, I agree, very dreamy. Maybe this will become the chillaxing dreamy music thread

Oooooh Nine Inch Nails, now that is a very calming track! I always associate them with more up beat rock and amazing visual displays (saw them in Glasgow a while back and were awesome) so would never have thought of them for relaxing. Thank you for the heads up.

Super link, thank you! Loads of meditative sounds there, think this might just be a hot-link in my browser now.

Thank you for the heads up, I love David Lynch films and have not seen this one! So a new Lynchy film to track down too. Fab

Have to admit Silent Hill (as in the movies) is not something I would ever have associated with chillaxing, but this is very chilled. Thank you for that, will now check out the other Silent Chill entries too.

All your input is much appreciated

I bought both soundtracks to the Millennium TV series. I paid more than I wanted to, but I love the music on that show. Mark Snow did the music for it and X-Files. Two Steps from hell also has some great music.

Angelo Badalamenti composes most of the scores for David Lynch's movies, so you might want to check out the soundtracks/scores from his other films. Funny you should make this thread, because I've been listening to a lot of soundtracks lately, Including Fire Walk With Me, Blue Velvet, The Straight Story (all Lynch), Dead Man (Neil Young), and The Saint.

Other good ones:

Drive
Solaris (2002)
Paris, Texas
Gone Girl (Trent Reznor)

Thank you for all the suggestions. I loved Blue Velvet, must go watch it again! Will also go seek out Angelo Badalamenti work, think I am going to have to make some compilations.
