New fire warning sensors will reduce the number of fire warning indications in flight. They're still in development, but they use a dual sensor,
combining an optical and smoke detector system. The detector will detect smoke, and if the optical sensor detects smoke, the warning will activate in
the cockpit. If one or the other doesn't detect smoke, the warning won't activate.
For now, there will be nuisance alarms. As said, it's far better to dump fuel and land than to keep flying and have another Swiss 111. The biggest
issue here is that Qantas doesn't have staff in Baku, so they had to fly engineers in, and the crew had to go into crew rest because of the length of
the flight. Their duty day ran out after landing.
