You'll notice a new list of all our staff members at the bottom left column on the forum home page. This gives everyone a view of our current staff, and you can also click on any staff members name to send a U2U.

The next addition is two new stat lines in the "Activity Stats" window; "Conspiracy Posts: 24 Hours" and "Chit-Chat Posts: 24 Hours". These provide a view of the general nature of discussion. As you'll notice, as of the posting of this message, we have 423 conspiracy posts and 411 chit-chat posts (the chit-chat posts are combined from all non-conspiracy forums such as Chit Chat, XMB, fiction, etc.). This means that ATS, as a conspiracy discussion forum, is running at a pace of only 50% of our posts having anything to do with conspiracy topics... hmmmm... Let's try to improve that number, huh?

I am in the process of doing so, in fact during the time you fixed the forum, I lost my latest posting...but I remade it.

I have noticed that I get less replies when I post a Conspiracy topic than when I put a Chit-Chat topic...

Some conspiracy topics require a considerable amount of genuine knowledge for people to make a worthwhile contribution.

Some people with a passing interest in those topics don't come armed with the knowledge. If they make a naive remark, they can get shouted down, and become less inclined to revisit (or at least post on) the same troubled ground.

yeah I agree, people might have much less knowledge about the conspirasy topics than the chat topics, but surely QUALITY of the conspirasy topics is more important than just post counts...

I've seen topics lately like what concerts do you go to?, what music do you listen to?, what are you doing right now?

That has nothing to do with aliens/government conspiracies...

Good Idea Will.

Sounds like out of this innocent thread will come "the ATS Conspiracy Conspiracy".

These kinds of threads are helpful in getting to know one another and who we are discussing the conspiracy topics with. These threads, in my opinion, are what make this more than just a conspiracy website, but more like a community. If they don't interest you, then simply dont click on chit-chat.

I do more reading than posting in the conspiracy forums, so I enjoy the interaction with other members in the "other" forums and I think the same goes for alot of our members, just look at the numbers.

So would you suggest a member with limited conspiracy knowledge to (A)find a new board, or (B)stick around and learn and contribute when possible?

I would hope (B), the more views and opinions, the better.

Conspiracy Posts: 24 hours: 673
Chit-Chat Posts: 24 hours: 312

The next day the conspiracy posts hit 70%, must have worked William.
