Saw this recently and wanted to share.

Matthew 26:63 ...The high priest said to him, “I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

64 “You have said so,” Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: From now on you will see the Son of Mansitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”[a]

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Daniel 7:13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Quite right. The reference back to Daniel is undoubtedly what Jesus meant when he was calling himself "Son of man" in the gospel narratives.

In confirmation of this, look through the story of Matthew ch20 vv20-28
The sons of Zebedee want to sit on his right hand and his left "in your kingdom", which is about what happens when the Son of man comes to judge the world and then continue to rule. Crucially, he does not rebuke them for having that idea of him. He accepts it as a valid expectation. He rebukes them only for wanting to push themselves forward.

See also the judgement scene of the Son of man in Matthew ch25 from v31.

The same concept is at the heart of the apostolic teaching that Jesus comes back to "judge". including Acts ch17 v31 and 2 Thessalonians ch1 vv7-8.

Luke 11
29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.
30 For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation.
31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon is here.
32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and now something greater than Jonah is here.
