Jet Black, drummer with The Stranglers has passed away age 74.

One of the pioneers of 1970's British Punk. The Stranglers had a string of great hits.

We seems to be loosing a fair few musicians from the golden era of music.

R.I.P. Jet.

Jet Black, the original drummer for 1970s punks The Stranglers, has died aged 84, the band confirmed. The musician, who was born Brian Duffy, was a founding member of the Guildford group, playing on hits Golden Brown, Peaches and No More Heroes. Just seen this news.
Love(d) The Stranglers, big part of my life.

I was in my last year in Primary School when they made their legendary first appearance on Top of the Pops in 1977.
JJ Burnel and Hugh Cornwell swap instruments.
Jet Black was already 39 years old!

Fast forward to November 1981.
I was in my last year at Comprehensive and me and a mate jumped a train to Newcastle to see The Stranglers play at The City Hall.
Great gig.
The first time I'd seen them live....not the last.

Another piss taking video.

RIP Jet, gone but never forgotten.

Wow, this brings back memories.

Saw them a couple times but what always amazed me was the number of local bands that both covered their songs and copycatted their style and sound, some quite successfully because they were major Stranglers fans and it was their dedication to them.
