Something similar happened to me a number of years ago. In fact, I think I wrote about it in one of these forums when I was registered under a
different username.
My first car was a 1967 Rover 2000tc, like the kind the British police used back in the day, but quite rare here in the US at the time. This was in the
late 1970's. Years (decades) later I had a dream in which, for some unknown reason, I was part of a team of volunteers helping to deliver medicine for
some kind of disease, throughout our community.
We had all met in a school cafeteria for our orientation and route assignments and were now going out to the parking lot to get our cars and get
underway.
Being a "car nut", this is where the dream gets interesting.
As I get to what I recognize as "my car" in the dream (
not the car I drove in real life), I recognize it as the model Rover as I used to
own.
Well, not the
same, really. This car was red, with a white hood and roof and reddish interior; mine hade been traditionally, British Racing
Green with a saddle brown interior.
Additionally, the dream car was
a station wagon (AKA, an Estate car), whereas my old car had been a 4 door sedan.
In fact, back when I owned it (the late 70's remember), I was unaware that the model was available as anything other than a 4 door sedan. In fact, it
actually wasn't, not by the company anyway. It wasn't until I posted my original description of this dream did I find out that there was a firm in
Britain that had "converted" a handful of Rover sedans into estate cars.
Only around 150 were known to exist.
Somehow, pre-internet, my dream mind keyed me into something I never suspected to have existed, but was in fact real.
Or at least, had been, years before I suspected it.
