No problems, they can do what they want. Christianity knows all about oppression. It will just go underground like it did 2000 years ago. You cannot oppress the truth. This has been proven throughout history.

They want to restrict the power of the religious organizations so these spiritual hubs can't dissent against a secular totalitarian regime. Stalin and Mao did the same thing.
