Looking for a universe simulator that let you explore.

I tried a program at a guy, around 9 years ago.. it was a virtual universe you could fly around in, visiting other solar systems and far away galaxies.
Gave a good sense of scale of things.

I remember learning that flying at lightspeed it not as fast as I thought it was.


But I cannot remember the name of the software, and I have no contact to the person that showed me it.

The snark in my requires that I inform you that if you want to see a simulation, just step into your back yard and look up.

The resources such a program as you describe my take a ton of resources. I'd be interested in seeing it for when I get bored with the back yard.

Two games you should have a look at is "No Man`s Sky" and "Kerbal Space Program".

No man`s sky is more about exploration - Kerbal Space Program is more about building rockets and spaceflight physics, but both games are realy great.

No mans sky for example features 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 Planets - not even kidding. Thats 18 quintillion lol
